Chapter 1158:
Meanwhile, Millie ignored every speculative whisper around her and turned toward Foley.
Foley, who had momentarily paused when she spoke up, gave her an encouraging smile.
“Yes, Millie. What’s your position?”
All eyes immediately returned to her.
Smiling gently, Millie said, “JM Investments will also invest seventy-five million dollars, the same as before.”
She gave a courteous nod to the room as she spoke.
Though she hadn’t said it outright, the underlying message was unmistakable: all their elaborate negotiations and strategic posturing had led nowhere. Every supposed plan was now irrelevant.
For a moment, no one seemed to comprehend what she had just declared.
They stared, almost stunned, as the meaning slowly sank in.
What did she mean?
“Do you even have that kind of money?” someone near Jose finally blurted out.
Another voice chimed in, “Yeah, Millie, where did the funds come from? Did you borrow from Myron?”
Millie’s smile didn’t falter. She turned her head slightly toward Taylor.
Taylor immediately understood and opened a folder, revealing the prepared financial documents.
These were the funds JM Investments had set aside exclusively for this occasion.
“We have sufficient capital,” Taylor said confidently.
“It isn’t borrowed money; it’s revenue we’ve generated ourselves under Miss Bennett’s guidance recently.”
The words were calm yet assertive, and they caught everyone off guard.
What? What revenue? From where?
Wasn’t her capital previously tied up through MKK?

Hadn’t she relied on Charles’s backing last time just to meet the threshold?
“How come none of us heard about this?” someone demanded.
“Did Elliott Group provide you with extra resources?”
Millie didn’t even glance at the speaker. Her voice remained soft but unwavering.
“No, they didn’t. But you’re welcome to verify it after the meeting; I have nothing to hide. Besides, the source of JM Investments’ capital isn’t the real issue here. What matters now is that we’re exercising our priority investment rights.”
She paused briefly, scanning the room.
Her eyes lingered on Jose and Babette for a moment. Both of them were visibly displeased, but Millie continued to smile.
“JM Investments will invest seventy-five million dollars,” she said again, her voice calm and firm.
“Understood,” Foley said, signaling for his assistant to record the statement.
Only then did it truly dawn on everyone that Millie was serious—and more importantly, that she had the funds ready even before coming to this meeting.
Jose couldn’t contain himself.
“Millie, are you really doing this?” he snapped angrily.
“You’re taking the entire seventy-five million? Leaving nothing for the rest of us?”
Millie simply smiled and said nothing.
