Chapter 1159:
Everyone understood the subtext. Jose wanted her to leave a portion of the investment for others, but she wasn’t budging.
Babette glared straight at Millie, her eyes full of menace.
“Millie, are you absolutely sure about this decision?” she asked coldly.
“Have you truly thought through the consequences?”
Millie kept smiling the entire time.
How could she possibly be unaware of what Babette had in mind?
She understood the value of keeping professional relationships smooth and pleasant. But if something was truly and rightfully hers, why should she let anyone take it away?
Was she supposed to retreat just because Babette threw out a few threats?
If she backed down now, what would that mean for her reputation in future deals?
Business wasn’t just about playing nice. Sometimes, you had to show that you meant real business. Always stepping back would only set her up to lose again and again.
Besides, Millie had her own agenda for those Yaroslav Technology shares—plans that went far beyond a simple investment.
“My position hasn’t changed,” Millie said, speaking up with a steady, confident voice.
“Right from the start, I believed in Yaroslav Technology. That’s why investing more feels like the obvious next move.”
Still, the looks she received made it clear that most of them weren’t on her side.
One person even spoke up.
“Millie, sometimes it’s smart to stay flexible.”
That comment made Millie laugh.
“Why should I walk away from what’s rightfully mine?” she replied, meeting their gaze.
“Last time, both Charles and I invested seventy-five million. If Evans Entertainment can invest the same amount this time, why can’t JM Investments do the same?”

No one had spoken up when Charles made his investment proposal. Everyone had simply gone along with it.
Most of the people at the table had been present at the previous meeting. They remembered Millie arriving on her own, and they remembered that it was Millie who later brought Charles into the deal.
Charles gave a nod and said, “Honestly, the way you’re all acting is pretty strange.”
That remark was met with a quick rebuttal.
“That’s not the same!”
Charles shot back, “Then what exactly is different?”
With Charles brushing aside their objections, there was little left for them to argue about.
Still, the mood in the room was tense and unsettled.
A subtle grin formed on Millie’s lips.
She could practically hear what was going through their minds. They had completely underestimated her and were already imagining how they would divide what she owned. Naturally, when Millie stood her ground and declared, “No, this stays with me,” their frustration bubbled to the surface.
Yet not a single one of them paused to remember that Millie had never once agreed to hand over the investment share. That was simply something they had convinced themselves they could take from her.
