Chapter 1295:

During the gathering, a bold “Happy Engagement” sign stretched across the stage backdrop, and a strange but lovely feeling settled in her chest. Seeing both of their names written together touched her in a way she hadn’t expected.

Maybe that was the magic of these traditions. Here, surrounded by warmth and standing beside the man she loved, everything in her life seemed to glow.

Her eyes drifted toward Myron again, just in time to catch him watching her.

He grinned and leaned closer.

“Looks like it’s official, Millie. You’re really my fiancée now,” he said, the words gentle and full of promise.

Millie’s smile grew brighter as she answered, “You’re right.”

Even though Myron had popped the question a while back, they hadn’t managed to celebrate until today. Now that everything was official, their lives had taken on a new meaning as an engaged couple.

Myron laced his fingers through hers, both of them showing off matching sapphire rings that glimmered in the light.

They shared a laugh while slicing into the engagement cake together, the sound of clapping and laughter echoing through the room. Nobody made more noise than Alexia, whose cheers drowned out all the rest.

Once the cake had been cut, Millie and Myron lifted their glasses in a toast. Then they sipped their wine side by side, every eye in the room on them.

The emcee’s voice rang out, letting everyone know the ceremony was complete.

Suddenly, Alexia darted forward and threw her arms around Millie.

Millie hugged her back, catching sight of tears sparkling in Alexia’s eyes, and gave her a playful tap on the forehead.

“You big softie.”

“I can’t help it. I’m just so happy for you,” Alexia said, trying to laugh, though her voice wobbled.

Millie brushed away the stray tears at the corners of Alexia’s eyes.

“Hey, don’t get weepy just yet,” she teased.

“Save those for my actual wedding. It’s coming up soon.”

Standing beside them, Myron added with a grin, “Today’s just a warm-up. Wait until you see what we’ve planned for the big day.”

Alexia’s curiosity got the better of her.

“What are you two hiding? Millie, do you know what he’s up to?”

Millie lifted her brows and shook her head, half laughing.

“I’m just as clueless as you. Myron swears I’ll love it, but he won’t give me any hints.”

“If I spill the beans, it ruins all the fun,” Myron replied, passing Millie a slice of cake and giving a pointed look at a few friends in the crowd. Everyone who caught his gaze knew better than to let the secret slip.

Millie took a bite of the cake, savoring the sweet flavor she loved most.

She picked up another slice and handed it to Alexia.

“You’ve got to try this. Trust me.”

Alexia grinned as she tasted it.

“Millie, this cake is incredible! Where did you get it? I want one for myself.”

“Leda’s bakery,” Myron answered, his eyes flicking to Sheridan, who returned a quick smile and nod.

A look passed between Millie and Alexia. They had noticed how Sheridan and Myron always seemed to be scheming together lately, but neither of them had figured out why.
