Chapter 1303:

“How’s it looking?” Brandon asked.

“He’s still checking the area. Very careful. But I’m ninety-five percent sure it’s him,” Eugene reported.

He had worked with Macauley at Watson Group once, so the posture and habits were familiar. But without full proof, he couldn’t give a final confirmation.

Brandon nodded and focused on the screen. From what he saw, it was definitely Macauley.

The surveillance showed Macauley wandering as if aimlessly, pretending to check his phone, but each loop brought him closer to the house.

“What’s he looking at?” Brandon asked.

“Our guys found extra hidden cameras around the property. They’re placed randomly, with no pattern—so Macauley must have planted them. He’s probably checking the feed on his phone,” Eugene explained.

That was why they couldn’t station too many people outside. Too many bodies might spook Macauley—or attract the police. Their mission was to hand both Macauley and Vivian to the police at once. If Macauley sensed Vivian had already been caught, he might retaliate.

Brandon nodded, eyes locked on the screen.

Time crawled by as Macauley approached the door for the fourth time.

This time, he stopped.

Everyone watching held their breath.

Macauley looked around to make sure no one was paying attention, then raised his hand and knocked.

He and Vivian had a rule—if anyone knocked, she shouldn’t open the door, because he had the key. Even without it, he had other ways to signal that it was him.

So now, as he knocked, he was ready to run the moment someone inside tried to open the door. His car was parked nearby.

He knocked once.

No answer.

The second time, he thought he heard a sound inside, but nothing happened, and the door stayed shut.

The third time, still no response.

“Is anyone home?” Macauley called after a moment.

“Delivery service.”

Still, the door didn’t open.

Silence stretched on.

In front of the surveillance feed, Eugene swore under his breath.

“So cautious… Is he going in or not? Is he just going to stand there all night and then walk away?”

If Macauley turned around now, who knew when they’d get another chance?

Eugene was beyond frustrated. He understood Brandon well—especially with Millie and Myron’s wedding coming soon. They had no time left to wait.

Eugene couldn’t stay still, pacing back and forth, while Brandon kept his eyes fixed on the screen.

“Calm down. We’ll catch him,” Brandon said quietly.
