Chapter 1324:

“Don’t think too much about it. He meant exactly what he said—he was complimenting you.” Millie looked up and gave Taylor a warm smile.

“Seriously, you’ve been doing great. Keep it going.”

Behind those questions, Myron had been quietly testing the waters. Letting secrets slip in a place like this could cause serious trouble for everyone involved, and he wanted to be sure Millie’s assistant was trustworthy.

Taylor might have had doubts about Myron, but she trusted Millie completely. Hearing those words from Millie instantly lifted her spirits.

She smiled.

“Thanks for believing in me!”

After Taylor left, a small laugh escaped Millie. She reached for her phone and dialed Myron’s number.

He picked up almost immediately.

“You really gave Taylor a scare,” Millie said, a hint of amusement in her voice as she explained what had happened with Wade.

Myron listened as he headed toward the parking lot. When the call ended, he drove out to the wedding venue. With the big day coming up fast, he stopped by often to double-check every detail.

No sooner had he arrived than staff came over to ask for his input.

After everything was sorted out, he headed off to meet Sheridan and Jayceon at another location.

“Hey, Myron!”

“Good, you made it!”

The two of them looked up from their conversation and stood to greet Myron the moment he arrived.

Myron gave them a friendly nod, then walked over to the table to take a closer look at what they had laid out.

He glanced around the room.

“Are we all set for the big day?” he asked.

Sheridan nodded quickly.

“Everything’s lined up exactly the way you wanted.”

A spark of excitement lit up Jayceon’s face.

“We ran every scenario you could think of. The field test went off without a hitch, too. I’d say we’re golden.”

“We’ll double-check everything again in a few days, just to make sure nothing gets missed,” Sheridan added, sounding confident.

Jayceon’s grin widened.

“Millie is going to flip when she sees it all. I can already picture it—this wedding’s going to be the talk of the century.”

Sheridan nodded in satisfied agreement.

Myron clapped his hands together once.

“That’s exactly what I wanted to hear.”

With all the plans confirmed, he headed back to Elliott Group to tie up a few loose ends.

The drive back kept him in high spirits. He greeted everyone he passed, and even minor annoyances seemed to slide right off him today.

Inside his office, sunlight poured through the tall windows as he stared out at the sky, his thoughts drifting back to his first meeting with Millie.

She had been the star of every finance headline, while he was the exile—shipped off to sea by his own family.

She had stepped out of the crowd, handed him a blue diamond necklace, and spoken of partnership and trust.
