Chapter 1342:
She texted Myron, telling him to handle the remaining arrangements and letting him know she’d be back later.
“Take me to Crobert Federal Penitentiary,” Millie told the driver.
The car moved swiftly through the night, carrying her closer to the prison.
Taylor had arranged everything ahead of time, so Millie entered the visiting area without any trouble.
Hayden looked genuinely startled when he saw her, and his eyes immediately drifted to her chest.
Millie pulled her coat tighter and shifted her posture, avoiding his gaze the same way she used to years ago.
“What brings you here all of a sudden?” Hayden asked.
Millie lowered her gaze and spoke without looking at him.
“I’m getting married.”
“Who’s the groom?” Hayden asked.
“Myron Elliott,” Millie answered.
Hayden let out a quiet “Oh,” almost as if he had expected it.
Millie lifted her eyes toward him.
“I thought you’d assume I was marrying Brandon,” she said.
“I know the two of you ended your relationship,” Hayden replied.
A small frown formed on Millie’s face.
“He drops by now and then,” Hayden added with a faint smile.
“Hard to believe, right? Even though he’s the one who got me locked up, he’s the one who visits the most.”
Millie gave a small nod to show she understood, then said nothing.
“So you came here just to announce your new relationship?” Hayden asked.
“No,” Millie replied.

She didn’t fully understand her own reason for coming. A short conversation with Nicole had stirred up old memories, and something in her had pushed her to face this man again.
Years had passed, yet Hayden was just as unpleasant.
“If that’s all, you should go,” Hayden said.
“I don’t want to see you.”
Millie stayed silent. She stood and walked out without looking back.
Hayden shouted something after her—messy, unclear words—but she ignored him and kept going.
She settled into the car, quiet and distant.
“Take me back,” she finally told the driver after sitting in silence for a while.
Wedding preparations were still waiting.
That evening, the villa buzzed with warmth.
Millie ate dinner with everyone, surrounded by lively chatter. Myron sat close, gently peeling shrimp and placing them on her plate, while Millie joked around and stuffed five pieces into her mouth until her cheeks puffed out.
Ari watched, her eyes bright with amusement, glancing between them as she giggled at Millie’s antics.
While the villa overflowed with joy, another place remained somber.
