Chapter 1344:

Brandon left the main house and made his way back to his residence in Moonlit Estate.

He walked alone through the woods. Moonlight filtered through the branches, breaking into soft silver glimmers along the path.

He remembered this very place.

Millie had slapped him here, back when he accused her of using their child to force him to come back.

She had been drinking that night. The wind had been brutal, and since she was still weakened from her miscarriage, the alcohol hit her harder than usual.

He had carried her back to his place afterward.

Along this same path.

Brandon reached the door, pressed his finger to the scanner, and stepped inside as it unlocked.

His eyes drifted to the wall.

This was where he had pinned her close and kissed her.

“Click.”

He flicked the lights on.

No one had stayed here for quite some time, but the cleaning staff came regularly, so everything remained spotless.

Brandon walked into the master bedroom.

When they were together, it had always been their room.

He lay down on the bed and stared at the pale ceiling above him. They had shared countless nights here, and the last one had ended with her in tears.

She had said she couldn’t bear to look at him anymore.

Now she would soon be another man’s wife.

Tomorrow, she and Myron would stand before everyone and tie the knot. They would become husband and wife.

Just like Brandon and Millie once had.

A sharp ache spread through his chest, making it hard to draw a full breath.

As the night grew darker, Millie walked Myron to the door, little Ari at her side.

“I’ll head back now,” Myron said with a warm smile.

“I’ll come for you in the morning.”

Millie nodded, smiling.

“Alright. Drive safely.”

After their goodbyes, Millie’s friends stayed behind, ready to attend the wedding together the next day.

With Ari’s hand in hers, Millie watched Myron walk away. He took a few steps, looked back at her, and continued—only to turn around again.

“Stop staring or you’ll never leave tonight!” Charles joked, giving Myron a playful pat on the back.

Laughter erupted around them, and even Myron flushed like a shy little boy.

Millie and Alexia couldn’t help laughing too.

When Myron finally reached the car, he waved at Millie again.
