Chapter 1346:

To hide that sadness, to keep herself from feeling hollow, she kept telling herself it had been her decision. Derek’s health truly should come first.

She had the ring, the dress, the house, and she married Brandon. She told herself she shouldn’t ask for more.

So the wedding passed in a blur—hasty and careless.

“But this time, there are so many thoughtful details,” Millie said as Alexia drifted in and out of sleep.

“What details…” Alexia muttered weakly.

“Myron handled everything,” Millie continued.

“The wedding dress was custom-made, and he even traveled overseas himself to convince Madame Maysa. He bought this villa just for the bridal stay and the ceremony. He even offered me his assets, but I refused.”

She thought about how busy she had been—and how Myron had still managed every single detail on his own. He had even made sure a photo of her father would be at the ceremony.

He was thoughtful in a way she hadn’t expected.

“This time, I’m more present. It feels like a real wedding,” Millie said softly.

“And that’s what makes me nervous.”

But she got no reply.

Millie turned her head and saw Alexia sleeping soundly.

When Millie checked the time, it was almost two in the morning.

She didn’t wake her friend again. She simply got up, adjusted the blanket over Alexia, and returned to her own room.

Lying on her bed, she stared at the ceiling. She wasn’t sure how long she stayed that way before she finally fell asleep.

Sunlight spilled through the curtains as Millie was practically hauled out of bed.

Her mind still floated somewhere between sleep and wakefulness, and she let everyone swarm around her. They helped her into her gown, worked on her hair and makeup, and hurried her from one photo spot to another.

Watching her friend’s drowsy face, Alexia couldn’t hide her amusement.

“You brought this on yourself, you know. You kept me up last night, and now you look like you barely survived!”

A huge yawn escaped Millie as she looked at Alexia helplessly, her eyes brimming.

“I know,” she whispered.

“I really shouldn’t have stayed up so late.”

“No, not the tears! You’ll ruin the makeup!” Alexia waved off the apology and sprang into action. She dabbed at Millie’s eyes with a tissue, then disappeared to fetch coffee.

Laughter and chatter filled the room, and Millie managed to shake off her grogginess by the time the groom’s party arrived.

Everyone gathered for playful games, but Myron soon emerged from the crowd. He strode across the room and stopped right in front of Millie.

With a gentle smile, Myron sank down on one knee and held up a bouquet.

“Will you marry me, Millie?”

Tears shimmered in her eyes as she fought to keep them from falling. After a moment, she nodded with absolute certainty.
