Chapter 1455:

“For the pain you brought Millie, I will never forgive you,” Myron said.

“I won’t forgive myself either,” Brandon replied, barely above a whisper.

The room stretched into stillness.

Eventually, Myron stood and walked out.

News spread quickly that Brandon had shown up at school to stand up for Millie’s daughter. Everyone was left stunned.

“Millie might not even survive, and he’s still defending her child.”

“And she already married Myron. The wedding is done.”

People couldn’t make sense of it.

Soon after, Myron posted something publicly. “Ari is my daughter, my successor, now and always.”

He made his position clear. Even if Millie didn’t pull through, Ari would never be left unprotected.

A short while later, Charles released his own message. In his video he said, “I’ve always adored Ari. I’ll shield her like my own. No one gets to hurt her as long as I’m around.”

Beside him, Trudy nodded hard.

The three most influential figures in Crobert had spoken up. Their meaning was unmistakable. Even if Millie’s life hung by a thread, no one was allowed to walk all over her precious daughter.

When Myron brought Ari back to the hospital, Millie’s condition had stabilized again.

Nicole, dabbing her eyes, told him what happened earlier.

“She suddenly became restless, like she needed to act. Then all the machines spiked at once. It looked urgent. She cried for the first time in days,” Nicole said.

“When did this happen?” Myron asked, placing Ari down gently.

Nicole told him the time.

Myron and Ari exchanged a look. They understood immediately. It happened while Ari was being bullied.

“Mom got worried about me,” Ari whispered, her eyes turning red again.

She walked to the glass panel and spoke softly toward Millie. “Mom, I’m okay now. I’m safe.”

Millie didn’t move at all.

Myron explained the school incident, telling Nicole that he arrived at the right moment for Ari, but some parents and Brandon had gotten there early.

Nicole’s eyes reddened again as she looked at Millie. It was all for her child.

For so many years, Nicole had failed her. When Millie cried in silence, she wasn’t there. When Millie needed support, she hadn’t given it. She had even caused Millie pain. She had never been a good mother.

Myron stepped beside Ari at the glass, pulling her close as they both watched Millie.

Myron told Millie softly, “Brandon gave Ari that tanzanite set today. And I let her accept it. Don’t worry. None of what happened today will ever happen again.”

In a tender tone, he added, “Ari is our daughter, and she will be the most cherished girl in Crobert. And don’t worry about your company either. Everything is steady now.”
