Chapter 1479:

Ari seemed the most eager to see Millie.

However, everyone had to wait outside because the tests were still ongoing.

Eventually, the doctor emerged from the room.

“Doctor, how is my daughter?” Nicole asked right away.

“She just regained consciousness. So far, we’ve only completed some initial tests. We’ll need more tests to know the full situation,” the doctor replied, nodding to both Giffard and Alexia.

After the doctor stepped out, everyone hurried into the room.

Myron continued to hold Millie’s hand tightly. Sunlight poured through the window, lighting up her delicate, pale features.

“Millie!”

“Millie!”

“Mom!”

“Millie, we have come to see you!”

“Millie, you’re finally awake…”

Everyone’s gaze settled on Millie resting in the hospital bed.

Millie managed a faint smile and looked like she wanted to speak, but before she could utter a word, she slipped back into unconsciousness.

“Millie!” Panic swept through the room.

“What’s happening?”

“Mom!”

“What’s wrong with Millie?”

They pressed the call button once more.

A doctor entered to examine Millie and assured them that her condition was expected. Millie was still extremely frail after sleeping for a whole year and could only stay awake briefly.

While the doctor checked on her, Millie was already fighting to remain conscious. However, she understood that many people were eager to see her and make sure she was truly awake, so she forced herself to keep her eyes open until everyone had arrived.

After seeing each visitor, she finally allowed herself to relax and drift back to sleep.

The doctor then added, “She spent a long time in a coma. Even though she’s now awake, she’ll need time and rehabilitation to gradually recover. We also have to run more comprehensive tests to determine if there are any other concerns.”

Patients who endure lengthy comas often deal with temporary disorientation or physical problems from lying still for so long, and these must be thoroughly evaluated.

“But her awakening is definitely an encouraging sign. Just give her time,” the doctor concluded.

Everyone remained uneasy and tense, but at this point, waiting was all they could do.

Still, just as the doctor mentioned, Millie opening her eyes was already something to feel hopeful about. It was far better than not waking up at all.

Myron observed as Millie’s eyes shut once again. He reached over, softly wiped away the last of her tears, and held her hand firmly.
