Chapter 729:

As the caretaker entered, Brandon was already struggling into his wheelchair. “Mr. Watson, where are you trying to go?” the caretaker asked in alarm, hurrying over.

Brandon gave no answer. His bloodshot eyes alone spoke volumes, making him look half-crazed.

Moments later, Eugene appeared.

“Mr. Watson,” Eugene said respectfully, taking over the wheelchair and guiding it out. They rode the elevator down to the ground floor together and climbed into the car.

As the car raced along the road, Brandon gazed absently at the blur of scenery flashing by, his eyes filled with a storm of restless emotions.

From the driver’s seat, Eugene occasionally glanced back through the rearview mirror.

He had learned only afterward about Brandon dragging Millie to the apartment and attempting to force himself on her.

Once he knew the truth, Eugene chose silence.

Brandon was still his boss, after all.

From the perspective of a rational outsider, Eugene could clearly see that the tighter Brandon tried to hold on to Millie, the more she would slip from his hands.

This mess, Eugene knew, was something Brandon had created on his own.

Yet he dared not voice any of it and silently kept his opinions to himself. The car sped down the road until the looming gates of Crobert Federal Penitentiary came into view.

Because Eugene had prepared everything the moment Brandon called, they were answered without delay.

Eugene wheeled Brandon’s wheelchair through the entrance, and then stepped away.

Not long after, Hayden was brought out.

The sight of Brandon confined to a wheelchair caught him off guard for a second. Brandon watched Hayden take a seat, yet he made no move to pick up the receiver right away.

He just sat there, glaring at Hayden.

In Brandon’s mind, everything had started with Hayden.

If not for him…

It was Hayden who finally picked up the receiver, knocking against the glass to draw Brandon’s attention.

At last, Brandon glanced down and slowly extended his hand toward the receiver.

“Brandon, what happened to you? Did you break your leg?” Hayden asked with mocking delight.

Brandon stayed silent, his bloodshot eyes blazing with wildness as he glared at Hayden.

Hayden leaned closer, smirking. “So, what brings you here this time?”

Brandon continued glaring at him, as though he wanted to carve Hayden’s face deep into his memory.
