Chapter 893:

“What do you think will happen today?” Norma asked, worried.

“I don’t know. I just fear Brandon won’t be able to take it,” Derek said, shaking his head.

Norma hesitated. “Do you really think Millie is with Myron?”

“Myron has always been determined to have her,” Derek said, sighing. “Brandon may have finally figured out the truth, but Myron…” Their words faded into silence.

Finally, Derek said quietly, “We’ll just have to let things unfold as they will.”

Norma gave a faint nod, and together they got ready to leave.

Time slipped by quickly, and soon everyone connected to the matter had gathered at the Watson Group, waiting for the final evaluation to be made.

The group had arranged to meet at ten o’clock sharp this morning in the Watson Group’s executive boardroom on the top floor.

By twenty minutes to ten, Millie and Myron were already standing outside the towering Watson Group building, checking their watches and preparing for what could be the most important meeting of Millie’s life.

Over the past few exhausting days, both Millie and Vivian had been working around the clock to submit their final documents to the teams that Derek and Norma had assembled for this competition.

The pressure had been enormous, with every detail scrutinized and every number double-checked. Millie had pushed herself to the absolute limit, finally submitting her last set of documents at the stroke of midnight the night before. Her dedication to the Elliott Group’s exciting new product launch had kept her buried in work for days in a row, but she’d managed to balance everything perfectly.

On the other side, Vivian had completed all the assignments that Brandon had specifically arranged for her, submitting her own final documents just hours after Millie had finished hers.

Now, as Millie stood there, she tilted her head back to gaze up at the impressive glass tower that stretched toward the clouds above them. The Watson Group building was the tallest structure in all of Crobert, a monument to power and success that dominated the city’s skyline.

Once upon a time, she had spent countless days and nights within these walls, some of the happiest and most meaningful years of her life unfolding in the offices and conference rooms high above where she now stood.

From midnight until this very moment, Derek and Norma’s dedicated teams had been working tirelessly through the night, analyzing every piece of data, reviewing every submission, and calculating the final results.

By now, the outcome of this high-stakes competition should be crystal clear.

Millie closed her eyes and made a silent wish that she had won this battle.

Even though Brandon had given her his word that the Bennett family’s precious assets would be returned to her regardless of the outcome, she much preferred the satisfaction of earning victory through her own efforts.

There was something deeply important about having complete control over her family’s legacy, even though the Watson family would ultimately be the judges of this entire contest.

Millie felt warm fingers intertwine with hers, and she opened her eyes to look at Myron standing steadily beside her.

“I’m going up with you today,” Myron said, his voice gentle but determined. In the past, he had always waited respectfully in his car because their relationship hadn’t progressed to a point where certain professional boundaries could be crossed without causing gossip or complications. But now, everything had changed between them. He wanted to be right there beside her, offering his support and strength.
