Chapter 949:
After delivering this threat, Brandon maneuvered his wheelchair toward the basement exit.
Vivian tried desperately to lunge after him, but the guards immediately restrained her, holding her back as she screamed and fought against their grip.
“Mr. Watson.” Eugene was waiting anxiously just outside the basement door. Brandon didn’t acknowledge Eugene with so much as a glance; his eyes remained focused straight ahead.
“Contact our legal team immediately,” he instructed in a flat, emotionless voice.
His original plan had been to have Vivian arrested and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. But now, with those photos still hanging over their heads like a sword, he couldn’t risk that approach until Macauley was neutralized.
Brandon quickly explained to Eugene about Vivian’s threat involving the compromising photographs, and then added with quiet intensity, “Make finding Macauley our top priority. Use every resource we have.”
Eugene nodded his understanding and immediately began making the necessary arrangements.
Brandon returned to the ground level of the villa, where his driver was waiting to take him back to his apartment.
As the car moved through the city streets, he stared out the window at the endless stream of traffic and pedestrians, all of them going about their normal lives while his own world continued to crumble around him.
The emotional pain had reached a point where he could barely feel it anymore. What was he supposed to do next? How could he fix something that seemed completely broken?
Every instinct screamed at him to go to Millie immediately and confess everything. But even if he bared his soul to her, would she be able to forgive him? Would she ever consider coming back to him?
Brandon recalled her words about how she and Myron had become intimate, how their relationship had grown serious and committed. While he didn’t care about her past with Myron, the real question was whether she would be willing to leave her new life behind and return to him, even if she could somehow find it in her heart to forgive his mistakes.

He picked up his backup phone with trembling fingers. His regular number had been blocked by Millie, so he’d registered a new one just for this purpose. Brandon began composing a lengthy message, pouring out everything about their shared history, Vivian’s web of deceptions, the twisted agreement he had made with her, and countless words begging for another chance to make things right. But when he finished writing, he couldn’t bring himself to send it. Eventually, he erased the entire message. After several minutes of staring at the blank screen, he typed out a single, simple line.
Meanwhile, Millie had just learned the shocking news that the hit-and-run driver who had tried to kill her was Macauley. At that exact moment, her phone buzzed with an incoming text message. Millie looked down at the screen and saw it was from an unknown number.
“The man who tried to kill you with his car was Macauley. He’s currently hiding somewhere in Crobert. He’s extremely dangerous, has already killed multiple people, and may try to attack you again. Please stay safe—Brandon.”
“We have officially issued warrants for the arrest of both Vivian and Macauley,” Lynda informed Millie from across the table.
“I understand,” Millie replied with a simple nod.
