Chapter 957:

Relieved, Millie tucked her phone away, picked up her purse, and made sure to bring along a gift before heading down. Downstairs, she found Helga deep in conversation with Maggie.

“I’m sorry for making you wait,” Millie apologized, feeling a bit rushed.

“That’s alright,” Helga replied simply, her expression unreadable.

Soon after, they got into the car and set off together.

Settling into the back seat, Millie offered Helga the present she’d picked out. “I brought this for you. It’s herbal tea—my own blend. I hope you’ll like it.” Helga accepted the gift with a gentle smile and tucked it into her bag.

As the car rolled away from the house, Helga studied Millie more closely, as if wanting to know her better.

“The reason I dropped by today is because I saw what was online,” Helga explained, making Millie’s nerves tighten even more.

Millie already had a pretty good idea of what this was about. Her history with Brandon was always a hot topic whenever people mentioned Vivian these days. Helga was Myron’s mother, which made the situation feel even more complicated.

Helga continued, her tone sincere as she reached for Millie’s hand again. “After watching all that, I felt it was important to come see you in person and clear things up. Please don’t let outside opinions weigh you down. You’re living your own life, not theirs. No one but you gets to decide what’s right for you. Why shouldn’t a woman move on after a divorce? Just because your ex-husband’s begging for you to come back doesn’t mean you owe him anything. And staying single forever for his sake isn’t the answer either. If he truly cared, why didn’t he cherish you more?”

Millie felt tears pricking at her eyes, moved by Helga’s understanding. “Thank you for being so supportive,” she said quietly.

A playful glint appeared in Helga’s eyes. “If you really want to thank me, make sure you impress everyone later!”

For a moment, Millie didn’t quite understand what she meant. Millie glanced at Helga, noticing a storm of unspoken thoughts behind her calm expression.

While Millie thought this over, the car eased to a stop.

“We’ve arrived, ma’am,” the driver announced as an attendant opened the door for them.

“Let’s go.” Helga stepped out first, then offered her hand to help Millie out of the car.

Side by side, they made their way to the establishment.

The building stood three stories tall and even featured a sparkling pool, giving off more of an exclusive club vibe than an average beauty salon. One look around, and it was clear the place catered only to wealthy clients. No sooner had Millie and Helga walked in than a staff member approached to greet them.

“Welcome, Mrs. Elliott,” the receptionist called out to Helga with a warm smile, but she paused briefly when she spotted Millie.

“This is Millie Bennett, my future daughter-in-law.” With an air of pride, Helga introduced her companion.
