Chapter 965:

Another added, “Mr. Elliott, there are many decent women you could choose. Why tie yourself to a divorced woman and raise another man’s child?”

The crisp clack of Myron’s pen hitting the table cut them off.

Silence fell.

“Finished?” Myron asked, his voice calm, betraying no trace of his mood.

The few people who had been speaking moments before now sat in uncomfortable silence, stealing glances at each other, but none of them were brave enough to say another word.

“If that’s really how all of you feel about this situation, then I’ll give you a clear answer right now,” Myron said, his voice cutting through the quiet. “I’m in love with Millie. But here’s the thing—it’s not me choosing her anymore. I’ve gone through hell and back, waiting and hoping for the day she would finally choose me.”

“But Mr. Elliott, you could easily find someone who would be more suitable for—”

“There is no one else,” Myron interrupted firmly, not allowing the man to finish his sentence. “She’s the only one I want. There will never be anyone else.”

“She is extraordinary—far better than any of you could possibly imagine. Without her support and presence in my life, I wouldn’t be the man I am today.” Myron’s tone remained completely steady and controlled. “Since you’ve decided to bring this matter up today, consider this my official announcement to all of you.”

It was clearly a declaration, not an invitation for discussion. There was absolutely no room for debate or negotiation.

The board members looked at each other again with obvious discomfort. Finally, Henrik Perez, a balding middle-aged man, found the courage to speak up.

“Mr. Elliott, you need to understand that Elliott Group doesn’t belong to you alone. Your personal relationships have a direct impact on the entire company. You can’t be this reckless with such an important decision.”

Myron slowly lifted his head and fixed his gaze directly on the man who had spoken.

Henrik shifted nervously under the scrutiny but stubbornly held his ground. “It could be literally anyone else, but Millie is completely unacceptable.”

Suddenly, Myron began to laugh.

His laughter, normally warm and pleasant, was absolutely chilling in this moment, making everyone in the room deeply uncomfortable.

“So that is why you tried to introduce your niece to me, isn’t it, Mr. Perez?” Myron’s voice was deceptively calm. “I seem to remember declining that suggestion when you approached me privately. But tell me, Mr. Perez, why did you then send people to try to convince my mother to support your plan?”

Henrik’s face went completely rigid. He found himself unable to respond at all. The other board members turned to stare at him with obvious disapproval and surprise.

Myron’s face still wore that unsettling smile as he continued, “If everyone sitting around this table truly believes that my personal life makes me unfit to serve as CEO of the Elliott Group, then I’ll make this easy for all of you. I’ll step down immediately.”

Everyone present was absolutely stunned by this declaration. Some began exchanging frantic glances, while others started typing urgent messages on their phones.

But Myron continued smiling calmly.

He sat back and observed everything with quiet interest, watching all the subtle communication happening around him.
