Zachary mentioned that Callum was on his way back.

Camryn felt a twinge of regret; had she known he wasn’t at the office, she would have called him in advance. However, calling ahead would have ruined the surprise.

Fortunately, Callum hurried back from the Wiltspoon Hotel, so he didn’t keep Camryn waiting long.

Throughout the journey, he speculated about why Camryn had come to see him unexpectedly.

When his older brother Zachary informed him, he only mentioned that Camryn was there without revealing the reason for her visit.

Since Camryn left that day in Dalton’s car, he hadn’t seen her for a few days. They had spoken on the phone, but whenever he called, he found himself talking while she just listened.

He knew Camryn’s aunt, Azalea, was visiting, and Camryn had mentioned wanting to spend time with her. She insisted he not join them, claiming the aunt and niece wanted to bond without interruptions.

When Camryn made this request, Callum respected her wishes and allowed them their time together. Over the past twenty years, she had received some affection from her aunt, and in a childlike way, she didn’t want him to intrude.

In reality, Callum had a strong fondness for Camryn, although neither of them acknowledged it.

As soon as the car came to a stop, Callum quickly exited and rushed toward Camryn.

“Camryn.”

He approached her and noticed she was still holding a large bouquet of roses. After catching his breath, he reached out to take the bouquet from her hands and smiled, asking, “Is this for me?”

Previously, Callum had called Camryn’s flower shop to order flowers that she would then deliver to his office.

This was the first time Camryn had taken the initiative to give him flowers.

Camryn faced him and laughed softly, “It’s not for you. So, who is it for?”

Upon hearing this, Callum smiled broadly.

“This flower is truly beautiful; I love it!”

Callum was now as joyful as a child.

It was just a bouquet of flowers, yet it made him so happy.

Camryn felt his happiness and suddenly realized that she had not treated him well enough.

Callum said, “Why don’t you call me in advance if you want to come over? That way, I can be ready for you at the office.”

Camryn replied softly, “I wanted to surprise you. Would it still be a surprise if I called you first?”

Callum grinned again; she had surprised him by coming to see him unannounced with a bouquet of flowers.

“When did you return to the city?”

Callum held the bouquet in one hand and Camryn’s hand in the other.

His large hands were gentle yet strong. Holding her hand made her feel warm, and she longed to hold it through all of life’s challenges.

Camryn replied, “I just got back this afternoon and came to see you after spending some time at the store.”

Knowing she came to him right after her return made Callum even happier.

At that moment, his smile shone as brightly as the midday sun.

Callum asked, “Has your aunt gone home?”

Camryn responded, “Yes. She has a lot to take care of at home. My aunt has been running around for me these past few years. Even though Brother Dal has helped her financially, my uncle still has some opinions, though he has never spoken ill of it to me.”

Her cousins were also very kind to her, including her cousin, who had treated her well.

Camryn felt that her aunt had sacrificed so much for her over the past decade, making her feel like a burden.
