Grandma May smiled and asked Zachary, “Would you like grandma to make you a delicious soup right now?”

Zachary’s cheeks turned slightly red as he replied, “It’s too hot outside; I don’t want to risk a nosebleed.”

Grandma May then inquired, “Have you seen Shawn Lowe?”

After a brief pause, Zachary nodded and explained, “The Lowe family has noticed that my relationship with Serenity has stabilized, and since Shawn has accepted this, they’ve brought him back home.”

He continued, “The branch company was returned to Lowe Enterprise, and now he works as Mr. Lowe’s secretary, following him daily for guidance and training.”

Shawn would eventually take over Lowe Enterprise in the future.

The offshoots of the Lowe family were not even considered in this plan.

Shawn was the biological son of Mrs. Lowe and Jasmine’s cousin. After Jasmine married into the Bucham family as a young mistress, the offshoots of the Lowe family abandoned any hopes of being involved with Lowe Enterprise.

With a cousin like Josh around, competing with Shawn for control of Lowe Enterprise would be reckless; it was wiser to stay in their lane.

Otherwise, once Shawn assumed power, he would eliminate rivals like the eldest daughter of the Newman family, making any opposition not worth the risk.

Grandma May remarked, “Mr. Lowe has only one son and one daughter. Why would he invest in raising his nephew and daughter if his son is already capable of taking over the company? Shawn is a good person, but you’ve sidelined him because he likes Serenity.”

Zachary defended himself, saying, “Grandma, I never sidelined Shawn; it was his parents who sent him to the branch.”

Grandma May chuckled.

While Zachary may not have directly suppressed Shawn, he was indeed a barrier to Lowe Enterprise. Mr. Lowe and his wife were aware that Serenity was Zachary’s wife, and after their son fell for her,

To protect themselves, Serenity’s family had no choice but to send their son to the most isolated branch office. This not only shaped his character but also created a distance between him and Serenity, forcing him to end their relationship and abandon his feelings for her. Grandma May remarked, “Now that he has returned and rejoined Lowe Enterprise, are you unhappy to see him? Serenity has known him for over ten years, and because of you, they have become estranged. However, if Serenity spoke to him briefly in public, that is quite normal.”

“You are still so narrow-minded. Serenity was unfortunate enough to share a drink with someone else’s partner tonight, and you indirectly caused it by provoking so many people. Analia introduced Serenity to a love rival, yet you have the audacity to blame Serenity for greeting Shawn.”

Zachary replied, “Grandma, I didn’t provoke Analia. What did Shr say?”

Zachary opened his mouth to respond but found himself unable to argue back. Grandma May then pulled out a piece of red paper and handed it to Zachary.

“What is this, Grandma?” he asked.

“This is the dowry gift for Serenity,” Grandma May explained. “These are a few auspicious dates. Choose a good day to send the dowry gift to Liberty’s residence so Serenity can see it. Be sure to visit Mrs. Stone, Serenity’s aunt, as she is very important to both Serenity and Liberty.”

Regarding relatives from her hometown, if Serenity is willing to invite them to the wedding despite their past, the York family will treat them with respect. However, if they intend to represent Serenity’s family in assessing the bride price, she would likely be unwilling. Although her relationship with her grandparents seems to have improved, the two sisters still harbor resentment in their hearts.

They received what they deserved. Furthermore, their grandparents were aging and nearing the end of their lives. The sisters wished to avoid causing any more trouble for them.

Zachary had ceased to restrain their uncles and aunt, but their situation was worsening. They were unable to estimate their business prospects and were continuously losing money.

Villagers claimed that God was exacting revenge on them.

Regardless of what others suggested they do, nothing seemed to succeed.

Perhaps the spirit of the Hunt family’s third son had returned to punish his brothers, uncles, and nephews.
