Serenity suddenly realized the reason behind her feelings.
She must have been assessed by someone, and her partner became her remedy; it was no wonder she felt a bit sore upon waking up today.
Discussing this matter with Grandma May was challenging for Serenity, so she decided to eat breakfast first and planned to ask Zachary about it when he returned.
Meanwhile, at the York Corporation,
the president’s office received an unusual visitor: Andrew.
Just as Zachary set down his signature pen, he picked up his coffee cup with one hand and pulled out his mobile phone from his trouser pocket with the other, intending to call his beloved wife when Andrew knocked on the door and entered.
Upon seeing Andrew, Zachary postponed his call. He took a sip of his coffee while watching Andrew approach.
“Brother,” Andrew greeted Zachary and took a seat opposite him.
“What would you like to drink?” Zachary inquired.
“I’m not thirsty. I’ll pour myself some water if I need it,” Andrew replied.
Since Andrew claimed he wasn’t thirsty, Zachary didn’t bother to get him even a glass of warm water.
Zachary said, “It’s unusual for you to visit. Are you here to ask for something?”
The Reading family maintained a low profile; despite their close ties with Zachary, they rarely interrupted his work. Thus, when Andrew showed up unexpectedly, Zachary assumed he wanted something.
“It’s not about Elisa,” Andrew stated.
Zachary set down his coffee cup, looked directly at Andrew, and asked, “Why? I haven’t seen you in a while, and you actually fell for Elisa?”
Andrew quickly refuted, “I didn’t fall in love with her; it was Remy who fell for her. Mrs. Stone came to me—”
She asked me to assist her by pretending to be interested in Elisa and pursuing her, claiming this would cause Remy to quit despite any challenges. Remy has feelings for Elisa and is willing to marry her daughter; she should find this amusing. Elisa’s reputation in Wiltspoon is quite poor, yet she has always admired you. No one would consider her seriously.
Elisa was deeply in love with Zachary, and even though she has moved on, no one in Wiltspoon dares to pursue her for fear of being compared to Zachary. They feel they cannot compete with him and prefer not to be compared to him at all.
The Johnsons are the wealthiest family in Annenburg, billionaires in fact. Although Remy isn’t the family head, his brother is, and he manages the FC & Co. business in Wiltspoon, earning a substantial income. It’s more than enough.
Remy also owns several properties in Wiltspoon, including a house he purchased next to the Stone villa, making them neighbors. I don’t understand Mrs. Stone’s concerns.
After witnessing Brother Duncan’s car accident, Mrs. Stone became less inclined to oppose the relationship between Elisa and Remy, unlike Mrs. Lewis. Instead, she has repeatedly approached me about matchmaking Elisa with me. I’m growing increasingly frustrated with Mrs. Stone.
I’m worried that if I agree to help her, Elisa might ultimately leave Remy and fall for me. What if I end up marrying her? If I can’t control my feelings and develop affection for Elisa, what will I do if she doesn’t feel the same? Wouldn’t I be left with an unrequited love?
Zachary: “…My aunt is still embroiled in this matter.”
Andrew responded: “No, brother, she’s my sister-in-law’s aunt and sees me as a potential son-in-law. Brother, could you please persuade Mrs. Stone?”
