Zachary, who was far away in Wiltspoon, sneezed several times in succession.
Duncan and Liberty exchanged glances.
Liberty asked with concern, “Zachary, are you coming down with a cold?”
He handed it to his friend. Since becoming disabled, he had become accustomed to carrying paper towels on his body in case he fell and needed to clean himself up. “It must be Serenity who misses me. She has been away for so long that it’s no wonder I don’t miss her,” he thought. Zachary believed he was strong and rarely fell ill, but he was sure his wife missed him.

As Zachary contemplated self-sabotage by deliberately getting sick to draw his wife back, he reached for the tissue from his friend. Upon pulling it out, he grimaced and said, “Duncan, your tissue has a strong smell. I-I don’t like it very much.”
Liberty, noticing the scent, replied, “This smell is lovely. Sonny really enjoys scented tissues, and whenever we go out to eat, he comments on how nice the hotel napkins smell.”
Zachary remained silent. Previously, Duncan hadn’t brought tissues, but now he did, opting for fragrant ones to please Sonny without being asked. The primary reason was that Liberty also enjoyed this fragrance.
After wiping his nose, Zachary asked Liberty, “Sister, will you be free later?”
Liberty responded, “What’s wrong?”
“I suddenly remembered that I have something to do and can’t take Duncan home. I was hoping that if you’re free, you could help me out.”
