Soon, the security captain of Queen Enterprise emerged with a group of security guards to destroy the flowers.
Kevin’s team promptly intervened to stop them.
The atmosphere quickly became chaotic.
Kevin, however, remained calm and took the opportunity to photograph his “labor” results with his mobile phone.
After snapping a picture, he noticed Hugh in the crowd and approached him.
Hugh squatted down and picked a flower from the abundance around him. As Kevin drew closer, Hugh offered the flower to him with a charming smile, saying, “Mr. York, if you prefer men, why not pursue me? I believe I’m a better match for you than my brother, who is a typical guy and wouldn’t be interested in you.”
Kevin playfully pinched the flower between his fingers and leaned in to inhale its fragrance, remarking, “It smells fresh.”
Then, he placed his hand on Hugh’s chin, gently lifting it to meet his gaze. With a smile, Kevin said, “Second Master Queen, you’re quite handsome, but compared to your brother, you lack a bit of taste.”
Hugh chuckled and pulled Kevin’s hand down, asking, “What kind of scent is missing from you, Mr. York? Let me see if I can help. My brother is very serious, so don’t joke around like that. If you need a scandal to address your issues, just come to me. I’ll support you completely, just don’t involve my brother.”
He leaned closer to Kevin and whispered, “Mr. York, I know you do this on purpose to create the impression that you’re gay. This way, your elders won’t pressure you to marry again. If you don’t pursue the match your grandma has picked for you, she will still acknowledge you as her grandson. It’s a clever solution, despite the minor fallout it may cause. It’s acceptable if…
You may hurt yourself, but you also hurt others. If you intend to cause harm to others, that’s your choice; however, if you hurt my elder brother, that will be entirely on you.
Mr. York, if you wish to hurt me, then go ahead. I am nearly 30 years old, according to my parents, and I do not have a steady girlfriend. I think about this every day and night. Occasionally, I hear others talk about their significant others, who seem far better than I am, as they are too busy with work.
Kevin smiled and said, “Second Young Master Queen, you are quite clever, but I still prefer Mr. Queen. You would make a suitable brother-in-law.”
Hugh thought to himself, “This guy is really taking advantage of his sister.”
“Stop!” a deep voice commanded.
The crowd, which had been pushing and shoving, immediately ceased and parted. Hayden stepped forward, followed closely by her secretary.
Kevin noticed that Hayden’s expression was as dark as coal. In the sea of flowers, some blooms had been crushed, but the main arrangement remained intact.
“Mr. Queen,” Kevin approached her.
Hayden glared at him with piercing eyes and coldly inquired, “Mr. York, what are you doing?”
“Creating such a disturbance,” she added.
“I sent you a bouquet of flowers, but you refused to accept it,” Kevin replied, sounding somewhat aggrieved. “You have no idea how much courage it took for me to send you those flowers. I noticed you turned them down without even glancing at them. I thought perhaps you found them lacking, so I arranged this sea of flowers for you instead.”
He gestured to the remaining flowers and asked, “Mr. Queen, are you satisfied with this many flowers?”
Hayden felt an urge to kick them over. She struggled to suppress her anger, reminding herself to remain calm and rational.
After taking a few deep breaths, Hayden spoke in a deep voice: “Mr. York, I am a man, and I am attracted only to women, not men. I appreciate your feelings, but please respect my wishes and let me go.”
Kevin smiled and replied: “Mr. Queen is always a man, but that won’t deter me from pursuing you. If I pursue my interest, whether Mr. Queen accepts it is entirely up to him. I don’t believe there is any tension between us.”
