He was assisting Andrew in averting disaster, and naturally, Andrew wanted to support him unconditionally.
Without Julian’s prompt, Remy would not have spread the word, which would not have benefited him.
Remy stood at the door of the Stones’ villa, watching as Julian drove away.
He planned to return for his nephew’s 100-day banquet and needed to ask his parents, brothers, and sister-in-law for support and to encourage their involvement.
Initially, Remy intended to win Audrey over gradually through his sincerity and genuine feelings.
He had also assured his older brother that he was not afraid of challenges, believing that as long as his relationship with Elisa was sincere, one day Audrey would come to accept the reality.
Remy felt that pursuing his wife was his responsibility, and he was reluctant to seek help from his family unless absolutely necessary.
Audrey’s continued rejection indicated to him that he was inadequate. Even if he sought assistance from his family, it would be futile.
He imagined a day when his parents, brother, and sister-in-law would all come to Wiltspoon solely to help him propose to the Stone family.
It wasn’t until Julian’s car disappeared from view that Remy returned to the house.
Audrey was questioning Elisa about what was happening.
“bouquet of flowers at me.”
I was taken aback and confused at the time. “Mom, please listen to what Mr. Bucham said, but don’t take it seriously. There’s no way Mr. Bucham could actually like me. It feels like he’s just fulfilling an obligation.”
However, she was unaware of who had instructed Mr. Bucham to fulfill this obligation.
Who had such influence to command Mr. Bucham?
Even someone of Zachary’s caliber had to show respect to Julian, and if he wanted to meet him, he needed Josh’s assistance to arrange it.
Elisa pondered this but couldn’t think of anyone powerful enough to make Julian do something against his will.
Alice remarked, “Mom, I don’t think Mr. Bucham is being sincere with Elisa. To Elisa, it seems like he’s just performing a role. Sending flowers and claiming he wants to pursue her feels more like a task than genuine affection.”
Audrey was puzzled. She couldn’t grasp Mr. Bucham’s true intentions.
“Mom, I love Remy. In this lifetime, I will stand by him. Unless Remy decides he no longer wants me, I will wait for him until you fully accept him and agree for us to be together.”
Audrey replied firmly, “What if it takes ten or eight years for me to agree? Will you ask him to wait?”
Elisa felt emotionally resistant to her mother’s plans, yet she also desired her marriage to be blessed by her parents and family.
Audrey sighed, “Elisa, there are so many young talents in Wiltspoon. Why do you only like Remy?”
Elisa responded, “There are many young talents in Wiltspoon, but they don’t like your daughter either.”
Mrs. Stone was left speechless.
