Kathryn’s words were undeniably harsh, yet they held a kernel of truth.

Since the incident involving the genuine and the fake daughter, Shiloh’s standing in Jensburg’s high society had sharply declined. It could be said that it had fallen dramatically. Those who once engaged with her, even with a hint of flattery, now kept their distance.

Although she could still participate in Jensburg’s high society and remained the favorite of her family, the individuals in this circle were all exceptionally talented. Regardless of her family’s affection, she no longer commanded respect outside her home.

The second-generation elites, whom she had previously scorned, now flocked around Kathryn.

Kathryn stood tall and smiled: “Are you happy? Then I’ll head back inside. In the future, try not to be so unkind, and don’t think I’m the one allowing you to walk all over me!”

After saying this, she went into the house.

Shiloh was left standing there, her face a mix of red and black.

Through gritted teeth, she muttered to herself: “Kathryn, one day, I’ll make you kneel and beg at my feet!”

Wiltspoon, York Corporation.

Holding a bouquet of flowers in one hand and Sonny in the other, Serenity stood at the company’s entrance, waiting for Zachary to finish work.

The security captain, standing beside her, inquired several times: “Madam President, are you really not going in? The President would be thrilled to see you pick him up after work.”

Serenity smiled and replied: “I won’t go in. He’s busy, and I want him to focus on his work for now. If I enter, he won’t get anything done. I came here to surprise him; I want him to see me as soon as he walks out, and that will be the surprise.”

She had brought Sonny back from Annenburg, and as soon as she arrived at the airport, she drove straight to the

York Corporation was in a car. After agreeing with Zachary, she planned to return to pick him up after he finished work. However, when she arrived back, she didn’t inform Zachary what time she would be in Wiltspoon; she simply wanted to surprise him.

Zachary called her at noon to confirm that she would be back in the evening, and then he did not reach out again, understanding she was busy. Otherwise, given his jealousy, he would have gone to the airport and waited for hours.

“Auntie, I miss my mother,” Sonny said, feeling lonely without anyone to play with and thinking about his mom. Serenity gently patted her nephew’s head and replied, “When your uncle comes out, your aunt will take you home. I’ve already spoken with your mother, and she’s just not available right now.” Her sister’s new shop was still undergoing renovations.

Duncan arranged for his bodyguards to take him to her sister’s new store every afternoon. While he couldn’t contribute much, he acted as a supervisor, overseeing the workers as they decorated. Duncan engaged in rehabilitation exercises every morning and evening, resting during the hottest part of the afternoon.

For Liberty, Duncan worked incredibly hard during his rehabilitation. He often fell numerous times, drenched in sweat, sometimes collapsing to the ground and struggling to get back up. When he couldn’t rise, he would slowly crawl to his wheelchair, grasp the armrests, and gradually lift himself into a seated position. This process took him more than ten minutes to complete.

He was reluctant to let anyone see him struggling and preferred not to have others watch him. The only exception was Liberty; occasionally, she would visit him, and he allowed her to stay by his side.
