“Ring Ring.”

Camryn’s cell phone rang, prompting her to quickly push the man who kissed her at every opportunity away.

Callum turned her face back toward him, refusing to let her escape his kiss, and said in a low voice, “I don’t care.”

As he spoke, he playfully insisted she stay with him for a bit longer before reluctantly letting her go.

At the door of Camryn’s room stood the butler, aware that her space was soundproofed. Therefore, he opted to call her rather than knock.

Camryn did not answer.

After ending the call, the butler waited a moment before calling her again.

This time, Camryn picked up.

“Miss, the eldest mistress of the York family has arrived,” the butler said respectfully.

“Let her in; I’ll be downstairs shortly,” Camryn replied calmly, her voice betraying no emotion.

The butler was puzzled about what was happening in the room. A lonely man and a widow sharing the same space—they were engaged, so they likely didn’t care about others’ opinions.

“Yes, understood,” the butler replied respectfully.

He then moved the phone away from his ear and ended the call.

Leaning against the door again, he strained to hear anything, but when he couldn’t, he turned and headed downstairs.

Inside the room, Camryn pushed Callum away, followed him, calmly straightened her clothes, and asked, “I don’t look odd, do I?”

Callum’s gaze roamed over her appreciatively, and he smirked, “I didn’t mess up your clothes, so what’s the problem?”

Despite their engagement, the most intimate act he had ever shared with her was a kiss, and he didn’t dare to cross that boundary.

He loved and respected her. After receiving the marriage certificate and holding their wedding ceremony, it was only natural for him to become a ravenous wolf. Additionally, Camryn still hadn’t seen Callum’s face; although she had touched it countless times, her mental image of his appearance was flawed. He hoped that once her eyesight was restored, they could truly become a couple, allowing her to finally see her husband. His words caused Camryn’s face to flush red. Her shy demeanor was so enchanting that Callum struggled to contain himself, nearly transforming into a wolf. He rushed out of the small study to open the door. Finding no one outside, he realized the butler had gone downstairs. He waited by the door for Camryn to emerge. Camryn first entered the bathroom to wash her face before slowly making her way over. “Callum,” she called out. “I’m here,” he replied, taking her hand. “Let’s go; I’ll take you downstairs.” “I can go downstairs by myself,” she said. “With me here, you don’t have to rely on yourself,” he countered. Camryn smiled, said nothing, and allowed him to guide her down the stairs. The butler had already welcomed Zachary and his wife into the hall. The couple sat on the sofa, with fruits and snacks laid out on the coffee table in front of them. As footsteps echoed on the stairs, they both looked up and saw Callum leading Camryn down together. Camryn’s pace was calm; those unaware would never guess she was blind, as she appeared to be acting like a normal person in her own home. “Brother, sister-in-law,” Callum greeted as they reached the bottom.

I took Camryn downstairs, where he greeted his brother and sister-in-law.
