Of course, Tania firmly denied that anything was wrong with her son. How could there possibly be an issue with her oldest son’s strong demeanor?

Liam took the medicine list from his wife’s hand and examined it twice. He didn’t understand medicine and was unfamiliar with the effectiveness of the medications listed.

He remarked, “It’s just a list of medications. If you haven’t shown it to the doctor, how can you be sure it’s appropriate? Everyone’s situation varies. Furthermore, they have publicly stated that they won’t have children. If you give this list to Serenity, she’ll think we’re pressuring her to conceive. She’s already under significant stress.”

Tania replied, “If you give the medicine list to our son, Zack has promised to tear it up personally. Didn’t the master Mom invited say the young couple would have good news in the autumn? Let’s wait and see; I believe there’s nothing wrong with them.”

Liam responded, “The two of them are busy with work, which may be due to high pressure. Don’t worry. We can’t control what others say, but our family must support Serenity. We should care for her, avoid adding to her stress, and not mention child-related matters in front of her.”

Tania sighed, saying, “It is said that those masters are accurate when predicting the past, but not the future. It’s already September, and in other provinces and cities, it is autumn. In our province, however, autumn feels like summer; it’s just as hot and unclear.”

I don’t want to add pressure to the young couple. It’s just that whenever I go out socially, my old friends always ask with concern. They inquire too often, making me hesitant to host another gathering with them.

Every time I return to my mother’s house, my brothers and sister-in-law ask about Serenity. Even my mother is preoccupied with the situation, expressing that she can’t find peace knowing she hasn’t witnessed Serenity give birth.

Everyone is concerned about the young couple’s potential long-term infertility, particularly due to Zachary’s character. His love for Serenity runs deep. If Serenity were truly the reason they couldn’t have children, Zachary wouldn’t have chosen to divorce; he would prefer to remain with Serenity rather than separate.

However, in the traditional views of the elders, there are three forms of unfilial behavior, with the most significant being the lack of descendants. Without a son or at least a daughter, how could the elders feel at ease?

Tania remarked, “My mother says that even having a daughter is better than having no children at all.” To outsiders, having a son is often seen as preferable, which explains the comments from the old lady of the Reading family. For those struggling with infertility, it doesn’t matter whether they are male or female; any child is a blessing.

Liam smiled and said, “If we have a daughter, Serenity will be a true hero in our York family. I dream of holding a granddaughter.” Tania laughed, agreeing, “That’s absolutely true.”

“Tell Mom not to worry; there will be children eventually. She’s in good health. Not only will she witness Serenity giving birth, but she’ll also hear the child call her great-grandmother.”

“Husband, it’s been a while since you’ve seen Zack, and you haven’t taken Serenity to visit his grandmother. I worry she might be talked about by her. Perhaps we should gently bring it up with Serenity. If she’s open to it, we can have her take the prescribed medicine; if she resists, we’ll reassess.”

“Forget it,” Liam said. “I’ve said everything I need to say. Not everyone can use a prescription medication; you have to consult a doctor to determine if it’s appropriate for you. All medicines have toxic properties. Just because you think it’s harmless like sugar doesn’t mean you should take them indiscriminately.”

Tania responded, “If I ask the family doctor to come over and check her pulse, Zack will definitely know that if that guy throws a fit, I won’t be able to control him. He won’t show me any respect just because I’m his mother.”

Tania had no connection to Zachary.

“Mom isn’t home again. I’m really worried,” she sighed.

If the old Mrs. York were at home, Tania would simply leave the medicine list in her care and wouldn’t have to deal with her.
