As soon as Mrs. Stone finished speaking, Elisa and Remy rushed in. The butler approached them, mentioning that the young master had requested their return. Concerned that something might have happened, they hurried back.
“Mom, brother, what’s going on?” Elisa asked as she approached her family.
Noticing the serious expressions on her parents’ and brother’s faces, as well as the documents in her mother’s hands, Elisa went straight to her mother, sat down, and took the materials from her. She then asked, “Mom, what are these?”
Remy also looked at Mrs. Stone with concern, taking a seat not far from Clive. Another person could sit next to Elisa; however, since Mrs. Stone had only recently started to accept Remy, he felt hesitant to sit too close to her in her presence.
“It’s nothing to worry about,” Mrs. Stone reassured them. “Your brother investigated some individuals in the Farrell family in Jensburg and compiled some information for me to review. By the way, how is the renovation going with Remy?” She glanced at Remy before directing her question to her daughter.
While reviewing the documents, Elisa responded, “Brother asked the butler to call us back. I thought something had happened, so I rushed here with Remy.”
Mrs. Stone smiled, saying, “Ah, that explains why you both returned together.”
She suddenly felt pleased about her daughter’s relationship with Remy. Although Remy was from Annenburg, he owned property in Wiltspoon, and the villa he was currently renovating was a neighbor to their business.
If there were indeed issues at home, it seemed that both would return in less than five minutes. Should they marry and live together, Elisa would have the opportunity to visit her mother’s house frequently.
“The decoration isn’t finished yet, so I’m not in a rush. They can take their time, as long as the quality is good.” Remy responded to Mrs. Stone’s inquiry about the decoration.
This was his and Elisa’s future home, and it needed to be perfect. He planned to discuss with Elisa how to install everything and which materials to use in each area. He also asked her opinion on where to plant trees and flowers in the yard, always considering her preferences.
In short, everything was arranged according to Elisa’s taste.
This was the home he envisioned for her.
He wanted her to love it and to feel comfortable living there in the future.
Mrs. Stone hummed thoughtfully and remarked, “Renovation can be quite a hassle. You have to redecorate both the interior and exterior, and even the landscaping in the yard needs updating. It may take a bit longer.”
Although Mrs. Stone hadn’t seen the progress, she caught a glimpse of the yard layout from the top floor of her house. She was aware that the original design had been altered, except for the trees that remained.
“Brother, this information is all quite personal. It doesn’t mention that Mom is from the Farrell family, nor does it provide the cause of our grandparents’ deaths.” After reading about the key members of the Farrell family, Elisa looked up at her older brother, somewhat confused.
She thought that her brother’s investigation into their grandparents’ deaths could help prove that their mother was the eldest daughter of the previous head of the Farrell family.
Clive replied, “I only looked into their information. The cause of death for Grandpa and Grandma was simply passed down by the older generation, but no one has any solid evidence. Everyone has their suspicions and theories. Decades have gone by, and now we’re trying to uncover the truth about Grandpa’s death.”
and grandma. There is little hope. Unless someone has insider knowledge and substantial evidence, we can only regard the cause of grandpa and grandma’s deaths as rumors. Currently, there is no way to approach the current Matriarch. Determining if Mom is from the Farrell family is straightforward. As long as Mom travels to Jensburg and undergoes a blood relationship test with the current head of the Farrell family, I can verify whether she belongs to that family.”
