Liberty stopped the car at the mansion’s gate.
“Sonny, wake up! We’re at your aunt’s house,” Liberty called out to her son, turning her head.
Sonny slept soundly; even his mother’s yelling couldn’t rouse him.
Liberty had to exit the car first.
“Sister!”
Serenity’s smile was as bright as the sun, and Zachary also approached, calling Liberty “sister.”
Liberty said, “It’s so hot! Are you two still standing out here waiting for me? Go inside quickly; I’ll drive in.”
Zachary chuckled, “Your sister heard you coming and started counting the minutes, thinking you’d arrive soon, so she came out to wait.”
Liberty lightly scolded her sister, “You came out to wait without an umbrella for shade?”
“It’s fine; we just sat in the security room for a bit. It was almost time, so Zachary and I came out to check and saw your car,” Serenity replied. “Where’s Sonny?”
Liberty explained, “He fell asleep in the car, and I can’t even wake him.”
“Let him sleep for now, sister. You can drive in and park,” Serenity suggested, opening the passenger door and getting in.
Zachary sat in the back seat and, seeing Sonny asleep, wanted to pick him up and let him sleep in his arms. However, when he touched Sonny, the boy woke up.
Opening his eyes and seeing Zachary, Sonny smiled and softly called, “Uncle.”
Zachary replied, “Well, Sonny’s awake! Do you want to sleep some more? If you do, Uncle can hold you while you sleep.”
Sonny rested his head on Zachary’s chest and closed his eyes again.
The soft, adorable sight melted Zachary’s heart, prompting him to lean down and kiss Sonny’s little face.
It’s no surprise that the elders frowned when they saw the couple return for the weekend without Sonny.
In private, Serenity told her husband, “We won’t bring Sonny back with us next time. I doubt your parents will let us into the villa. Sonny is a key to their approval. Without him, we won’t receive a warm welcome.”
Zachary was also taken aback.
Not only his parents but also his aunts and uncles.
When they learned that the couple had returned, their first question was about Sonny. Upon discovering that Sonny was absent, his relatives quickly turned and left.
The main reason for their disappointment was that there hadn’t been a young child in the villa for quite some time; the youngest, Rowan, was already sixteen or seventeen. Everyone found themselves drawn to Sonny’s youthful charm.
Sonny was adorable and had a way of charming his grandparents.
Liberty followed Sonny into the car, while the security guard opened the villa gate, allowing her to drive in.
This advice came from Zachary.
Upon entering the mansion, they encountered a spacious outdoor parking lot. Usually, everyone parked there, but if they preferred not to walk that far, they could opt to park right at the front door.
The mansion was enormous; Liam and his brothers each had their own small homes, which were independent yet connected.
Each house also featured a small parking area in its yard.
