Kathryn grew up in her adoptive parents’ home and faced constant bullying. She often wished for enough food, so she never dared to be picky about what she ate.

Even after she earned her own money, became a successful businesswoman with a net worth in the tens of millions, and indulged in gourmet meals from land and sea, she remained unselective about food; she enjoyed both simple and extravagant dishes.

The food at the Farrell household was also quite good.

However, because she was not fussy about food, the kitchen did not consistently prepare her favorite meals.

While she was not particular, she did have certain dishes she favored.

The kitchen seemed to overlook her preferences.

At family dinners, the dining table always featured dishes her mother enjoyed, alongside those favored by Shiloh, and everyone else had at least one preferred dish. Yet Kathryn, the true daughter of the Farrell family, received little attention from the kitchen.

Kathryn didn’t mind, but she was aware of it.

There was no rush.

She decided to wait until she had complete control over the Farrell family.

Everyone had their own strengths.

She didn’t resent the kitchen staff for aligning with her mother and Shiloh.

Mrs. Queen smiled and remarked, “It’s wonderful to see a girl who isn’t picky about food. Miss Farrell seems like a good girl, and I appreciate girls like you.”

Mrs. Queen was unaware of Matriarch Farrell’s true feelings. Matriarch Farrell didn’t love her own daughter but showered affection on Shiloh, who was not related by blood.

Shiloh’s biological father was responsible for the mix-up that swapped the two children.

If Kathryn were in that situation, she would have sent Shiloh back to her rural hometown long ago, as that was Shiloh’s true home.

Kathryn smiled shyly.

Queen’s request prompted Hayden to lead Kathryn out of the main house. Queen’s old house spanned a large area, featuring beautiful scenery in both the front and back yards—much nicer than Hayden’s villa in the Yuvinn area.

Hayden guided Kathryn through the front yard and then into the back yard, saying, “There are many scenic trees here, and it’s cool. Walking along the tree-lined path helps keep the heat at bay.”

“This weather is really hot,” Kathryn replied. “It’s almost October, and it’s still so warm.”

Hayden remarked, “Ms. Farrell, this heat is no exaggeration.”

As they walked side by side, Kathryn occasionally turned to look at Hayden, smiling as she said, “Mr. Queen, you’re really attractive. No wonder Mr. York likes you so much; he even sacrificed his looks to pursue you.”

Mentioning Kevin gave Hayden a headache. “That brown sugar has lost his looks a long time ago; he has no shame at all!”

Kevin had once said that shameless people couldn’t win over their wives, and that their brothers were equally shameless in pursuing the women they wanted, leaving Hayden dumbfounded.

Kathryn smiled and added, “Mr. York is also a great guy. Mr. Queen, if you were a woman, you two would make a perfect couple.”

“Mr. York is quite suited for you as well, Mr. Queen. You have a calm temperament and are very practical. You don’t talk much, while Mr. York is quite the chatterbox. Together, you’d balance each other out so you wouldn’t get bored.”

Hayden was left speechless.

“It’s a shame, Mr. Queen, that you’re a man. I doubt you’re attracted to the same sex. With how closely Mr. York is pursuing you, I fear he might end up disappointed. What about your parents—has Mr. York taken them into account?”

Donald and his wife’s attitude toward Kevin mirrored their feelings for their own son-in-law. This must have been noted by Kevin. It’s no surprise that Donald and his wife did not intervene to stop Kevin from pursuing and bothering Hayden. Hayden seldom voiced her concerns, saying, “That’s correct, my parents have been so charmed by him that they don’t even recall their last names. They like him so much, they love him, and when he visits, my brother and I have to step aside.”
