Tania: “…From your perspective, your son has no value at all.”

Zachary was the eldest son and direct grandson, raised alongside her in-laws.

At that time, Tania was a new mother and unsure how to care for a baby. Her parents-in-law were eager to help with raising the child, which allowed her to feel happy and relaxed.

Her husband had just taken over the York Corporation and was incredibly busy.

She often accompanied him to social events.

The parents-in-law personally cared for the eldest son, treating him as the York family heir.

As a result, the eldest son naturally grew close to his grandparents and listened to them the most.

Later, when the father-in-law passed away, the only person left to care for the eldest son was the mother-in-law.

Tania, as a mother, found herself unable to control her eldest son.

Fortunately, her parents-in-law were excellent guardians, ensuring that both Zachary and the other children received a good education.

In a way, she and her sisters-in-law were more like caretakers.

Liam: “It’s not that there aren’t any advantages, but rather that there’s no adorable daughter.”

Tania shouted at her husband: “Do you have a daughter? How do you know if she would be cute? Our home is like a monk’s temple. I married you, and after three births, I still couldn’t have a daughter. I always dreamed of having one and bought so many beautiful dresses, which I eventually gave away.”

Liam smiled and replied, “Maybe we could have a daughter if we had four children.”

Tania: “I’m afraid of giving birth to four little monsters.”

Liam: “…”

Additionally, their family hadn’t had a daughter for several generations.

“I’m not sure when I’ll be able to hold my grandson. I don’t want to say anything in front of Serenity. Now that the couple is out, I feel free to express it. When Zack reached the age for marriage, I looked forward to his wedding. When he married, I anticipated holding a granddaughter. At this point, whether it’s a grandson or granddaughter, I would be grateful to have a grandchild.”

Liam replied, “What’s there to worry about? Your son and daughter-in-law are both in great health. Sooner or later, your longing to hold grandchildren will be fulfilled. Just wait until you’re like my mother, who has grandchildren coming one after another—you might find it overwhelming.”

People are often insatiable, wanting a granddaughter if they have a grandson.

As Liam considered this, he thought that too many grandchildren would create such noise that it would make his head spin.

However, the children were not home, and the house felt too quiet.

Suddenly, a maid hurried in and announced to the couple, “Sir, madam, the young master and young mistress have returned.”

The couple exchanged glances.

The maid continued, “The young master got out of the car with the young mistress in his arms.”

“Wait, did something happen to Serenity?”

Upon hearing that her son was carrying her daughter-in-law from the car, Tania immediately felt anxious, worried that something might be wrong with Serenity.

She set down the photo album, rose, and walked out, saying, “No wonder he came back early; something must have happened.”

Liam followed her.

By the time the couple reached the courtyard gate, Zachary had already arrived at the main house in the center, carrying his beloved wife, assisted by the housekeeper.

“Serenity.”

Tania hurried over, opened the car door, and leaned in with concern, asking, “Serenity, what’s wrong?”

Zachary stepped out of the car.

“Mom, let Serenity get out first. We just returned from the car, and she’s a bit tired. I’ll help her inside so she can rest for a while.”

Zachary wanted to hug Serenity and assist her out of the car.

Serenity blushed and replied, “I don’t need you to hug me anymore. I’m fine; I’m just sleepy, and I can get out by myself.”

“How is this happening?” Liam asked.

Zachary smiled and said, “Good news, Dad—you’re going to be a grandfather.”

“Is Serenity pregnant?” both Liam and his wife asked in surprise.
