Josh didn’t like hearing his beloved wife express uncertainty about how to appreciate her blessings when she was, in fact, blessed.

She was not!

Josh should never hold Jasmine back from soaring high with her friends; whatever she wanted to pursue, he should do his best to support her.

Jasmine looked up at him in his embrace.

Josh lowered his head and playfully touched her lips with his. His eyes sparkled with affection, and he couldn’t resist whispering sweet nothings in her ear, prompting playful nudges that made her sit upright, her cheeks flushed.

Josh smiled gently.

Since the bodyguard was driving, Josh couldn’t address the excess around his mouth.

“I’ll stop at XX pharmacy soon to buy some nutritional supplements for my parents-in-law,” Josh instructed the bodyguards.

The couple was temporarily returning to Jasmine’s family home.

No gifts had been prepared.

Jasmine said, “You don’t need to buy so many things when visiting my mother. Every time we return, you pack large and small bags. You’re so thoughtful that my mother will mention you again in the future.”

Josh replied with a smile, “We just came from my mother’s house; didn’t we also bring large bags? My mother even packed a big bag of vegetables into our trunk.”

Jasmine countered, “My mother’s homegrown vegetables are better than anything from the store.”

Josh said, “That’s what my mother-in-law gave us. They’re all the best.”

It was shameless of Josh to praise his mother-in-law.

Mrs. Sox followed his lead and treated him better than her own son-in-law.

Jasmine believed that if her mother had a son like Josh, she wouldn’t need a daughter.

If not for her daughter, how could her mother have such a wonderful son-in-law like Josh?

The bodyguard brought the car to a stop in front of the house.

of the pharmacy Josh mentioned.

“Sweetheart, please wait for me in the car. I’ll step out to do some shopping since it’s quite hot outside,” Jasmine said.

Josh insisted that Jasmine stay in the car, so he entered the pharmacy to purchase some supplements for his in-laws.

As Jasmine watched her husband emerge with both large and small bags, her heart swelled with warmth.

Josh’s concern for her extended to valuing her family as well. He never returned to his in-laws’ home empty-handed, and he always complied with any requests they made for items to bring back.

He believed that buying gifts for his in-laws was a demonstration of filial piety. In turn, what his in-laws gave him was a reflection of the love elders have for the younger generation, showcasing familial bonds.

“It’s really hot this year,” Josh remarked as he got back into the car.

Jasmine quickly pulled out a tissue to wipe the sweat from his brow.

Although Josh wasn’t actually sweating, he appreciated his wife’s thoughtfulness.

“It’s not just a feeling; it’s the truth. It really is hot. The sun is blazing, and you could practically fry an egg outside at noon,” he said, exaggerating slightly. “The main issue is that it hasn’t rained in quite a while.”

Jasmine replied, “My family’s fields are now a mess. The village has changed a lot over the past 20 or 30 years. In the past, when farming was more common, crops would perish during droughts or dry spells.”

“I’ve never farmed,” Josh responded with a smile, having been a young master all his life.
