Jasmine was surprised that the nutritionist thought so much about her.
Fortunately, she was merely Josh’s cousin; although she served as the Bucham family’s nutritionist, she rarely lived with them. After Jasmine became pregnant, the nutritionist began visiting frequently, but her opinions didn’t influence Jasmine.
Jasmine’s mother-in-law also mentioned Serenity, speculating that the York family would hire a nutritionist to create a meal plan for her three daily meals.
Perhaps, but the York family would not impose restrictions on Serenity.
After the conversation between the mother-in-law and the nutritionist ended, Jasmine took several minutes to emerge from the bathroom.
“Jasmine, do you have diarrhea?” Mrs. Bucham asked with concern.
“No,” Jasmine replied, a bit embarrassed. “I just bring my mobile phone with me every time I go to the bathroom.”
She didn’t elaborate further; she understood the implications.
Isn’t it common for modern individuals to take their mobile phones into the bathroom?
“Jasmine, you should reduce your mobile phone use; it emits radiation,” the nutritionist remarked instinctively.
Jasmine smiled and said, “I don’t play games often; I mostly read while at the store and don’t use my phone much.”
After speaking, she turned to her mother-in-law and asked, “Mom, is everything ready? I’ll take it to Serenity since she’s already back from the hospital.”
“It’s ready,” Mrs. Bucham replied with a smile, calling the maid to bring out the gift she had prepared and place it in the car Jasmine would be using.
Soon, Jasmine left home, watched closely by her mother-in-law, aunt, and nephew.
Meanwhile, Julian was lounging in his study, sitting in a chair and holding a bunch of keys he had picked up.
Julian found himself repeatedly gazing at the photos in the small frame. As he looked, a smile crept onto his lips. His slender fingers delicately caressed the image of the girl in the photo. Anyone skilled in observing such gestures would likely be startled by the gentleness of his touch.
“Her smile is bright and sweet, making everyone around her feel at ease, and it’s impossible not to smile back,” Julian murmured to himself as he continued to touch the photograph. He viewed the girl in the picture as a little fairy. Her cheerful smile felt like sunlight, causing his heart to race unexpectedly.
This sensation was entirely new for him. Surely, she must be his destined partner. The master Grandma York trusted truly had a gift, claiming that Julian would meet the one meant for him, alleviating his father’s worries about him dying alone. He even mentioned that his destined girl would be in her early twenties but possessed a maturity beyond her years, akin to an uncle’s romance.
He didn’t mind her youth; after all, at twenty-three or twenty-four, she was of marriageable age, as long as she didn’t mind the age difference. He and Duncan were merely close friends, with Duncan being a proper uncle. However, Duncan’s interest lay not with the young girl but with Hai Ling, who was in her early thirties, divorced, and a mother. Despite being a few years older, Duncan was more than suitable for her.
“You don’t have a boyfriend, do you?” Julian spoke to himself, pondering. “If you do, would I still want to be…?”
“Does he interfere with your relationship?”
“I hope you don’t have a boyfriend. I shouldn’t have to worry if you have someone pursuing you. If I go out, who will stand up for me? Who can take me on?”
Julian exuded confidence.
