Mrs. Lane set the sour plum aside and smiled as she said, “Young Mistress, you mustn’t let the Young Master find out, or he might deduct my bonus. I’ve also prepared two types of desserts for you—small portions, not many—just enough for you to enjoy.”

Serenity observed as Mrs. Lane carefully removed the treats from the insulated lunch box and arranged them on the desk. She then examined the so-called desserts: tiny pastries that could easily be eaten in a single bite.

Serenity remarked, “Mrs. Lane, this pastry is so small, with just one plum. I can’t really enjoy it, and it makes my mouth feel dirty. It’s just too little.”

Grandma May chimed in, “Zack is worried that you might vomit, so he specifically instructed Mrs. Lane and me not to spoil you or let you have sour or sweet foods, especially after you vomited yellow bile this morning. If Mrs. Lane is offering you a plum, you should be grateful.”

Serenity replied, “Okay, okay, I appreciate it. One is better than nothing. Grandma, have you and Mrs. Lane eaten? Let’s share a meal together; I can’t finish it all on my own.”

“We haven’t eaten yet, which is why we brought a variety of food to share with you. It’s always more enjoyable to eat with company,” Grandma May said as she invited Mrs. Lane to join them.

Since Zachary wasn’t around, Mrs. Lane gladly accepted Grandma May’s invitation.

The three of them were having a delightful time in Serenity’s office.

Despite experiencing pregnancy symptoms that often led to vomiting, Serenity maintained a good appetite and could eat quite well.

Her office was filled with various snacks that Zachary had prepared for her.

Having learned from Josh that pregnant women often crave food, Zachary understood that, like Jasmine, Serenity was a true foodie. However, her love for food had only intensified since becoming pregnant.

prepared a variety of suitable snacks for Serenity. “Seren.” Liberty knocked on the office door, calling for her sister. The door was open, and the cubicle area outside was already empty, as everyone had finished work for the day. Recognizing that Liberty was Miss Hunt’s sister, the security guard opened the door to let her in.

As Liberty entered, she noticed a car parked outside that looked familiar, but for a moment, she couldn’t recall who it belonged to, and she saw her sister’s car still outside. Knowing her sister hadn’t left yet, she hurried in with an insulated lunch box.

To her surprise, she found Serenity and the others enjoying their meal with great enthusiasm.

“Liberty, come here, come here! You arrived just in time; we’re eating, and you should join us!” Grandma May exclaimed with joy, smiling and gesturing for Liberty to take a seat.

Liberty smiled back and said, “I thought it was too hot outside for Seren to go out, so I brought her some food. These are new dishes I’ve learned to prepare, cooked to perfection. I wanted to offer Seren a taste. You always help me evaluate my cooking, Grandma York, to see if it’s good.”

As she spoke, she opened her insulated lunch box and began to pull out the food and soup one by one. Although she only brought two lunch boxes, it was more than enough. Serenity’s desk was already filled with delicious treats, so she didn’t need to go out and could enjoy all the tasty food.

She felt ecstatic! Already happy, it was as if she were basking in a vat of honey.

She described being treated like a national treasure by her family as both a delightful and joyful burden. The gathering went from three people to four, making the atmosphere increasingly lively.
