Serenity eagerly sampled a new dish her sister had specially prepared for her, savoring it until her eyes sparkled with delight. As she ate, Serenity nodded in appreciation.
“Seren, remember to eat slowly and don’t rush,” her sister advised.
Seeing how much Serenity enjoyed the food, Liberty smiled and explained, “I signed up for a cooking class and practiced on my own when I got back home. Mr. Lewis tasted the dishes for me and said they were delicious, so I brought them for you to try. With Grandma York’s encouragement, I feel confident.”
“Sister, you’re the best!” Serenity exclaimed, giving Liberty a thumbs up.
Liberty was growing into a strong woman. Once a kind-hearted person who had been misled by her former partner, she had resigned and returned home to become a full-time wife, consumed by household duties and child-rearing, completely disconnected from the outside world.
Now, her sister was back in the workforce, and she had become her own boss, bravely venturing into the business realm. With time and support, she would undoubtedly excel again.
Liberty blushed slightly and said, “Sister, I need to keep working hard. I’ll also help in the kitchen when the new restaurant opens tomorrow. The two chefs I hired are exceptional as well. I believe that under our collective leadership, customers will be very satisfied.”
Her ambition was to own a large restaurant, especially with the success of chain establishments in Wiltspoon and nationwide. She hoped that one day she would achieve her dream.
Suddenly, her cell phone rang. Liberty took it out and checked the caller ID—it was Duncan calling.
“It’s Mr. Lewis,” she announced, generously sharing the identity of her caller with everyone.
After chatting with Grandma York for a while that day,
Liberty began to contemplate her future with Duncan. Book chapters are updated daily. Join us and stay informed about all book updates…
