“Grandma York, you seem to be in great spirits,” Lilian remarked, complimenting Grandma May.

During her time at FC Manor, Lilian had assisted Grandma May in checking her pulse. It was believed that Grandma May could live for over ten more years due to her excellent health.

Like her master, Grandma May benefitted from the use of valuable medicinal materials to maintain her well-being, which contributed to her robust condition.

Her master expressed concern about his longevity; he hoped to live to be 120 so he could witness Fabian marry and start a family.

Fabian was still just a baby.

Grandma May smiled and took Lilian’s hand. “What kinds of medications does your master have, Lilian? If you could get some for me, they might help extend my life. It’s not uncommon to reach 120 years these days.”

She continued, “I can’t wait to hold my great-granddaughter. I love soft, tender little girls. Just imagining a great-granddaughter as adorable as Avah is delightful.”

Lilian smiled back, saying, “My master is currently helping me with the baby. When I return, I’ll ask him for some pills for you, Grandma York. If you take them regularly, you could live to be 120, just like my master.”

“It’s true that you might have to wait a while to hold your great-granddaughter, but remember, Grandma York, you have nine grandchildren, which means there will be nine granddaughters-in-law. Surely one of them will give you a great-granddaughter, right?”

She wasn’t entirely sure.

She had heard about the monk temple associated with the York family, where women who married into the family typically gave birth to sons. She also learned that even when they try to balance the body’s acidity and alkalinity, the trend remains unchanged.

the outcome was still a son. With the advancements in medicine, if they wished to artificially influence the gender and have a daughter, they could opt for in vitro fertilization. However, if they were able to conceive naturally, Lilian would be advised against using test tubes. It was best to allow nature to take its course when having children, as long as the baby was healthy.

Reflecting on her crying son, Lilian remarked, “Avah is wonderful; no one dislikes her. I adore her and wish I could trade Fabian and Jane for Avah.” She uttered this under her breath, startling Tim, who nearly covered her mouth in alarm. He cautioned her not to mention it to her sister-in-law, fearing that her brother would never want to embrace Avah in the future. They didn’t have a daughter, but they did have a niece who could provide some support. If they couldn’t even hold their niece, they would be left with only their miserable crying cat to look at each day.

Grandma May chimed in, “That’s true. I will eventually have nine granddaughter-in-laws, and at least one of them will surely bless me with a great-granddaughter. In my day, I only had three daughter-in-laws who did their utmost.” Tania smiled and added, “Mom, if Seren’s generation doesn’t have any daughters, we can always look forward to the next generation.” Grandma May agreed, saying, “I think so too, but sadly, I may not live to see that. I strive to witness the next generation marry and have children.” Everyone laughed and nodded in agreement.

Amidst the cheerful chatter and laughter, Callum rushed back with Camryn. As soon as they entered Wildridge Manor, Camryn anxiously gripped Callum’s hand and said nervously, “Callum,

“What if Dr. Carden says my eyes are incurable?” Camryn asked, her voice tinged with fear. Accompanying her were Dalton, his fiancée Melissa, her aunt Azalea, and Azalea’s husband, Mario.

Upon hearing Camryn’s words, Azalea quickly reassured her niece: “Camryn, Dr. Carden is a brilliant student of a genius doctor, renowned for her mastery of both medicine and poison. She must have a solution.”

Mario added, “Camryn, your aunt is correct. Don’t worry—Callum has finally invited Dr. Carden. No matter what happens, she will definitely take a look.”

Callum held his fiancée’s hand gently and said with affection, “Regardless of the outcome, my feelings for you will not change. Camryn, as I’ve mentioned, my family and I have never disliked you. Think about it: I want you to heal so you can see the beauty of this world—and so you can see me.”
