Evan was reluctant to speak up, and Serenity couldn’t press him for more information. As long as Grandma chose the person, Evan would eventually bring her back. When Grandma May selected someone for Zachary’s cousins, she always considered whether the candidate would get along with Serenity. The person had to have a good temperament, as only someone with a good nature could coexist peacefully with Serenity, the elder sister-in-law. He had to admit that Grandma May’s favorite was always Zachary and his wife.

The family dynamics were different.

“Brother, sister-in-law, I’ll go greet my parents so they don’t think I’ve come back just to be quiet,” Evan said quickly before making his escape. He feared that his sister-in-law was eager to see some drama. If she showed interest, his brother would be ready to share stories with her, just to satisfy her curiosity.

“Running away so quickly? Clearly, something’s up,” Serenity remarked with a smile. “Husband, do you know which daughter Grandma is considering for Evan?”

Zachary replied, “I’m not sure and haven’t been paying attention. I’m married, and my focus is solely on my wife. Other women are irrelevant to me, and I don’t want to waste time listening.”

Serenity was momentarily speechless. Her husband truly was devoted!

With everyone back home, Wildridge Manor buzzed with activity all night before gradually settling down. Early the next morning, Zachary departed the manor with his beloved wife.

The young couple headed to support their sister. The entrance of the All You Can Eat restaurant was adorned with numerous flower baskets sent by everyone to celebrate Liberty’s new restaurant opening. Everyone called for Liberty to…

Liberty addressed her sister as Ms. Hunt, indicating a more formal tone. According to tradition, she prepared supplies for worshiping the gods and performed the ceremony at the auspicious time. Many people followed this practice on the day they opened their stores, and Liberty chose to do the same.

As everything was ready, Liberty noticed that Serenity had not yet arrived. She checked the time again and decided to call her.

“Serenity, I still have five minutes to get there. The auspicious time has arrived. Go ahead and worship God first; don’t wait for me,” Serenity replied. She understood the intent behind her sister’s call without needing further explanation.

“It’s okay; it’s not time yet. I’ll wait for you,” Liberty assured her. Since her sister would arrive in five minutes, she believed they could still make it on time.

The two sisters had lived together for many years and were each other’s most important people. When Serenity opened her bookstore, she waited for Liberty to start the worship ceremony, and Liberty did the same when she opened her restaurant. They both valued having the other involved in their significant moments.

“Make sure to tell the driver to drive slowly. Don’t rush; we still have ten minutes until the auspicious time,” Liberty said, concerned that Serenity might be hurrying the driver to speed.

Her sister was pregnant, and she needed to be especially careful during the first three months. Even though Serenity was healthy, Liberty worried. This child was something everyone had been eagerly anticipating for a year.
