Soon, Zachary poured a glass of warm boiled water and handed it to Liberty, saying, “Sister, my wedding with Seren will be held soon at the villa in Hoxmoor. Please accept the villa as a gesture from Seren and me.”

When the time comes, Serenity would move out of her sister’s house, which had always been her home.

Liberty took the cup of warm water and smiled, saying, “Zachary, I came to see you today to share this news.”

Hearing this, Zachary felt a surge of happiness. He quickly returned to his desk, opened the drawer, and retrieved a set of keys before walking back.

He placed the keys in front of Liberty and said, “Sister, I have always kept the house keys with me. I believe once you agree, I can give them to you anytime.”

Liberty took a sip of the warm water, glanced at the keys again, and felt touched.

Both her sister and brother-in-law genuinely cared for her. Zachary, a wealthy young man, had never looked down upon her younger sister and always treated Liberty with respect.

As for Serenity, ever since she began earning money, she consistently honored her older sister.

During her pregnancy, as she transitioned into a housewife and lost her income while her husband was stingy, she relied on the few thousand dollars her sister discreetly provided.

Without her sister’s support, Liberty often wondered how she would have managed those difficult years.

“Zachary, I appreciate the offer for the house, but I’d prefer to buy it from you. Even if you lower the price, I insist on paying. I need to feel secure in my new home.”

Zachary was taken aback.

He thought Liberty had finally come to a decision.

If someone else received a villa as a gift without spending a dime, they might not realize how happy they would be. However, Liberty was different. She firmly insisted on declining the offer and preferred to rent a house with her son rather than accept the property given by her husband and wife, which left Zachary feeling quite frustrated.

Liberty mentioned that she had approached him regarding the house, and since Zachary’s wedding with Seren was approaching, he thought Liberty might compromise. He was taken aback when she expressed her intention to buy it instead.

Zachary said, “Sister, you’re making this difficult for me. My house has an excellent location, environment, lighting, and decoration. Why are you unwilling to accept it? Does that mean my house isn’t good enough?” He added, “I haven’t lived there since the renovation, so it’s still in pristine condition.”

Liberty quickly responded, “Zachary, it’s not that I dislike you. Even if you had lived there, I wouldn’t have a problem with it.” He owned several properties, and it was true that he had not occupied many of them.

Liberty continued, “Zachary, you and Seren know my temperament. I just want to live peacefully.”

Zachary sighed and replied, “Sister, if I sell the house to you and Seren finds out, will she get angry with me and banish me to the study?”

Liberty smiled and reassured him, “Don’t worry about that. I’m here to support you. I won’t let Seren scold you. If she dares to get upset, I will step in. I’m your ally. Just trust me, and if you agree, I can move in within a few days. You and Seren can have your wedding, and she will finally be able to leave her mother’s house.”

Zachary understood Seren quite well. Sometimes, even she couldn’t sway Liberty’s decisions.

After a brief silence, Zachary said, “Sister, can you give me some time to think it over? I want to talk about it with Seren as well.” He believed it was important to consult his wife about the issue concerning Liberty to avoid upsetting her. Serenity couldn’t be upset, as she was pregnant.
