He proved to be even more challenging. “It would be nice to get engaged first.” Remy thought that getting married immediately was unrealistic. Like Callum and Camryn, they could become engaged first, host an engagement banquet, and invite all the respectable people in Wiltspoon; then everyone would know he was Elisa’s fiancé. Let’s see who would still want to compete for her affection against Remy. Ben said, “Don’t worry, I will definitely help you settle down.” After confiding in his older brother and asking his family for support, Remy felt a sense of relief. His family was incredibly supportive; as long as his parents, brother, and sister-in-law were involved, Mrs. Stone would surely agree to his marriage with Elisa. If necessary, his grandparents could also step in. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Remy turned to Ben and said, “Brother, I have a guest, so let’s pause our conversation for now. Please tell sister-in-law to start preparing generous gifts.” Ben replied, “Okay, you go ahead. Don’t worry; my mother and your sister-in-law have been eagerly waiting to help with the proposal.” Jane loved proposing marriage. As the elder sister-in-law, her opinion was significant. Anyone who hoped to marry into the Johnson family would pay close attention to Jane’s stance. After all, she would be the head wife in the future. Once Remy finished speaking with his brother, he called out, “Come in.” The office door opened, and Elisa entered, carrying a bouquet of flowers and several bags. Inside the bags were two new suits, two ties, and a gift box containing a Rolex watch. This was her gift to Remy. After he panicked earlier in the day, she wanted to ease his surprise with these gifts. Truthfully, she was also quite anxious, but thankfully, everything had turned out perfectly. “Elisa,” he said, noticing her presence.

Elisa entered the room, prompting Remy to put down his phone, rise from his desk, and greet her with a smile. “What brings you here?” he asked.

Elisa replied, “Why, don’t you want me to come?”

Remy chuckled, “Of course I do! I just thought you had just returned to the company from home and wouldn’t be here at this hour.”

Elisa walked over to the sofa, placed her bags down, and turned to hand Remy a bouquet of flowers as he approached. He accepted the flowers, his gaze warm and affectionate. “What’s the occasion? Sending flowers has always been my thing,” he said playfully, recalling how often he had gifted her flowers. Even though their relationship was stable, he made a point to surprise her occasionally. After Julian had started to “pursue” her, Remy felt the need to outdo him, devising various ways to strengthen his bond with Elisa and ensure their connection remained solid.

“Do you like them?” Elisa asked, curious.

Remy smiled and replied, “I love them. Even if it were just a blade of grass, I would appreciate it.”

Elisa teased him, “Then I’ll bring you a straw next time and see if you like that!”
