Knowing her younger brother was eager to see the excitement, Hayden sighed, walked over to unlock the door, and then returned. Hugh pushed the office door open.

“Brother, where’s Kevin? I heard he disguised himself as a woman and came to our company, right?” Hugh seemed thrilled by the gossip. He rushed over as soon as he got the news because he wanted to witness the spectacle.

Kevin had donned women’s clothing and even claimed to be Kevin’s twin sister. The York family hadn’t had a daughter in generations, so if Kevin had a twin sister, wouldn’t people be aware of it? The elders of the York family would have spoiled such a daughter immensely.

Hayden maintained a neutral expression and asked nonchalantly, “Who told you that?”

“Lots of people are talking about it! I came upstairs as soon as I heard. Is it true? Brother, have you seen Kevin in women’s clothes? Isn’t he beautiful? I can’t believe he dressed up for you—I’m dying of laughter!”

“Brother, haven’t you been moved? Kevin is genuinely kind to you. Sure, he initially approached you because of Grandma, but he’s sincere now. I can see it, and so can our parents. Just look at how much they like Kevin, which shows he’s a good person. Although they really want you to marry, their main concern is your happiness.”

Hugh whispered the last part, worried that the secretary outside might overhear.

“Sister, you should consider giving Kevin a chance,” he added softly.

Hayden looked at her younger brother. “Hugh, what benefits has Kevin given you that you’re defending him?”

Hugh chuckled, “No, he—”

didn’t do me any favors. I told him to pay attention to his brother-in-law’s behavior, but he still treats me poorly and hasn’t made any effort to please me, let alone offer me any benefits.

“Sister, I want you to be happy. He is a very good man, and he is well-suited for you.”

His sister was somewhat reserved and didn’t speak much.

Kevin, on the other hand, was articulate, and together they complemented each other’s strengths and weaknesses, making them a great match.

“Sister, where is Kevin? I want to see how he looks in women’s clothing.” After encouraging his sister, Hugh returned to the original topic.

He came to enjoy the spectacle. When he went upstairs, he confirmed that Kevin’s car was still parked in front of the office building, indicating that Kevin had not left.

“Brother-in-law, I apologize, but your information seems outdated. I’ve been here for quite a while, and you only just arrived after hearing the news,” Kevin’s voice rang in Hugh’s ears.

Instinctively, he glanced toward the door and noticed it was firmly closed.

Turning back, he saw Kevin emerging from his sister’s lounge.

Hugh’s eyes widened in surprise as he rubbed them to make sure he wasn’t imagining things. “Brother, I must be seeing things; I just saw Kevin come out of your lounge.”

Hayden replied coldly, “That’s him.”

“Elder brother!”

Hugh leaned forward, eager for gossip, and asked his sister, “What were you two doing in the lounge?”

As soon as he finished speaking, his sister playfully hit him.

Hugh wasn’t upset by the playful smack; he stood up straight and touched the spot where she had hit him.

He laughed. Soon, he noticed Kevin approaching again and realized that Kevin was not wearing the long skirt and wig everyone had mentioned. He asked, “Didn’t you say you were dressed as a woman? Did you lose the bet with my brother and decide to go along with it?”

Kevin replied with a slight smile, “If your brother wants to take the lead, I’m happy to play along.”

Hayden shot him a glare.

Kevin quickly explained, “Hayden, it was your brother who brought this up first.”

A proper wife would be strict, but she wasn’t his wife yet.
