The secretary had not yet left. Upon seeing Hayden return, he reminded her, “Mr. Queen, Mr. York is still in the VIP room.” Hayden replied, “I understand; the evening schedule is canceled. You can leave work early.” “Okay,” the secretary responded, feeling a surge of happiness at the news. Hayden typically avoided socializing in the evenings, which meant the secretary could finally have a night off to spend with his girlfriend. As Hayden’s secretary, he was always busy, often leaving early and returning late, and it had been a while since he had gone out with her. Their relationship had been strained due to his demanding schedule.
After Hayden instructed the secretary to cancel the evening plans, he walked over to the VIP room and gently opened the door. Inside, he found Kevin seated on the sofa, sipping tea while browsing the newspapers on the coffee table. He appeared relaxed and content, showing no signs of impatience. When he noticed Hayden entering, Kevin looked up, set his teacup down, and approached her with concern, asking, “Are you finished with your business? How did it go?”
Hayden responded, “We discussed the collaboration between Queen and the Rogers Group. Mr. Rogers came over today, and we talked all afternoon. The agreement is finalized, and the collaboration looks promising.” Kevin congratulated her, saying, “Congratulations!” Hayden smiled, replying, “Thank you.” Glancing at the newspaper Kevin was reading and the tea he was enjoying, she asked, “Reading the newspaper?”
Kevin replied, “Yes, I’m reading the newspaper, sipping tea, and waiting for the woman I love to finish work. Life is good.” Hayden raised an eyebrow at him, “Who is this woman?”
Kevin responded confidently, “You are my beloved woman; I’m not mistaken.” Hayden was momentarily speechless, having misheard him and reacting too quickly. Noticing her silence, Kevin inquired, “Are you off work?”
He felt he had the upper hand again. He held her hand in a good mood, but when she shook it off, he grasped it again, applying a little more pressure to prevent her from breaking free. “Kevin, this is Queen Enterprise, my company!” Hayden reminded him firmly. She forcefully shook off his hand once more, and as he reached for her again, she warned, “Be careful, or I’ll throw you over my shoulder.”
Kevin replied, “You broke me, yet you still need to take care of me. Anyone who looks after you deserves to be thrown.” Hayden turned and walked toward the door, saying, “I’m going home to have dinner with my parents.” She had originally planned an evening event, but she had asked her secretary to cancel it for this guy.
Upon hearing this, Kevin immediately followed her with a smile, saying, “I miss Uncle Queen and Auntie; I’ll go back with you to eat with them.” Hayden didn’t bother to respond; Kevin was so persistent that he seemed to invite himself over every day for a meal.
“By the way, there’s something I forgot to mention.” Kevin chased after her out of the VIP room, and as he saw her returning to the office, he followed closely, pulling out an invitation card as he walked. Without looking back, Hayden asked in a low voice, “What is it? Just tell me, I’m listening.”
Kevin handed the invitation directly to her. Hayden paused, glanced at him twice, and focused on the invitation card, asking, “What is this?”
“It’s an invitation to my older brother and sister-in-law’s wedding reception. They’re holding it earlier than planned. This invitation was originally sent to you by someone else, but after I found out, I decided to bring it myself.” He had even changed into women’s clothes and touched the invitation before remembering this important event.

Upon hearing that it was the wedding invitation for Zachary and Serenity, Hayden accepted it, opened it, and said, “Got it, I’ll be there on the wedding day.” Kevin responded, “You could arrive two days early. Our family can easily accommodate you distinguished guests who have traveled from afar.” Hayden returned to her desk with the invitation, organized the table, grabbed something else, and then left with Kevin. “I can only manage one day,” she remarked as they walked. Kevin replied, “Last time Josh got married, your family stayed in Wiltspoon for two days.” After a moment of silence, Hayden responded, “Then I’ll work overtime these next few days to see if I can take two or three days off to attend your elder brother’s wedding.” She was determined to attend Zachary’s wedding; it was just a matter of how long she could stay in Wiltspoon.
