Kevin said, “It was uncomfortable, but I won. You have to bet with me.” Hayden looked at him, visibly distressed. “Alright,” she replied, “I promise I’ll bet my whole life with you if I can do it.” With her promise in hand, Kevin quickly stood up and announced, “I need to go to the bathroom.” He clutched his stomach and rushed off. Hayden couldn’t help but laugh, but she also recognized Kevin’s sincerity.

After a while, Kevin returned from the bathroom. “Do you need to go to the hospital?” Hayden asked, concerned. Kevin straightened up and replied, “No, I’m fine. Let’s go for a walk to help digest the food before we head out.” He had never eaten so much in his life, and it was exhausting. Fortunately, he won, and in doing so, he gained her life. Hayden had wagered her entire existence on him, and he had done the same for her.

Hayden stood up from the sofa and said softly, “Let’s go. I’ll walk with you.” The two of them left the main house and strolled through her yard. Thankfully, the yard was spacious, and Kevin felt much better after walking around twice. “Even if you want to win, don’t overdo it. You broke out in a cold sweat before going to the bathroom,” Hayden remarked.

“For the happiness of our lives, I will definitely fight,” Kevin said, taking her hand. Hayden didn’t pull away and allowed him to hold her hand. The sight of the two of them walking hand-in-hand in the yard caught the butler’s eye, and his heart sank. The wise and powerful young master of the household seemed to be captivated by Kevin. However, both Mr. and Mrs. Queen favored the third young master York, treating him like a son-in-law, or perhaps even as a daughter-in-law. The butler felt sympathy for his young master being overshadowed by Kevin but said nothing, knowing his place as just a butler.

The Queen family was very kind to him, but he found it hard to speak much. Hayden asked, “Are you still in pain?” Kevin replied, “It’s not uncomfortable; it feels much better to be out of the bathroom. After a few more laps, I might get hungry again.” Hayden laughed, saying, “I thought you’d forgotten all about supper.” Kevin smiled, “No, tonight is our first date, so we can’t skip the midnight snack. Let’s go; I’ll take you swimming at my pool in the Fortress Hotel—it’s completely safe.” Hayden relaxed and allowed him to take the lead. She was accustomed to being treated by men, and Kevin didn’t want to change that; he just wanted her to feel comfortable and at ease. There was no need to worry about what others might say. With a hum of agreement, Hayden went along with him.

Ten minutes later, Kevin drove Hayden away, and her bodyguards naturally stayed behind. The butler personally opened the door for them and watched as Kevin’s Maybach drove off. After a while, he sighed. As long as the young master was happy, that was what mattered. Mr. and Mrs. Queen would accept it.

“Hayden, does the butler have any opinions about me?” Kevin asked while driving. He had always treated the butler well, often bringing small gifts during his visits. Whatever stance the Queen family took towards the butler was reflected in his own behavior.

After a moment of silence, Hayden replied, “The butler thinks you’ve tarnished my reputation and led me astray, so he must hold something against you.” Kevin chuckled, reciting a line from Tang Bohu’s poem, a classic line from Xingye’s movie: “Others laugh at me as crazy, but I laugh at those who can’t see.”
