Evan’s handsome face twitched.

After Grandma May finished discussing the painting, she handed it back to Evan.

Evan said, “Grandma.”

Grandma May raised her hand to signal him to be quiet and said, “You are the one who is dreaming and the one who has doubts. It is your responsibility to find out the reason. What good does it do to ask Grandma? I’m not a fairy who knows everything.”

Evan replied with a bitter expression, “But Grandma, you helped me select the candidate and provided me with all the photos. I’m ready to pursue my future wife, but the one you chose for me is the one who haunts my dreams. Women are not interchangeable.”

He continued, “Men in our York family don’t divorce or keep mistresses. I don’t want to be the first York man to regret his wife.”

Grandma May maintained her indifferent attitude and said, “This is your problem. You need to find out what’s going on. You’re dreaming because I chose a wife for you, so go find her.”

“Grandma!” Evan exclaimed.

He sat down next to her and playfully took her arm. “Grandma, do you no longer love me? You always said that your favorite grandson is me. Are you really willing to let your favorite grandson be the first York man to regret his wife?”

“You must have misunderstood. My favorite grandson has always been your older brother, Zack. He is my favorite. You all need to let your older brother be in the spotlight. I’ve said it before, but you seem to have forgotten,” she replied.

Seeing that his playful tactics were ineffective, Evan shifted to a more pitiful approach.

“Grandma, please have pity on me. If I ever did something like that in the future, my mother and my aunt would never forgive me.”

Grandma May responded, “Don’t worry, Grandma won’t sit idly by.”

Evan asked, “When my mother beats me, Grandma, will you come to my rescue?”

Grandma May replied solemnly, “I’ve already told you—I won’t just sit back and do nothing. If I don’t witness your mother beating you, why should I care?”

Evan responded, “Grandma, you’re so peculiar. If something happens to my oldest brother, you run like the wind. But when it comes to me, you don’t seem to care at all.”

With a smile, Grandma May said, “Of course! What’s wrong with your oldest brother? I’m just here to enjoy the show. You don’t realize how entertaining it is to watch your oldest brother get a slap in the face. Why would you want Grandma to witness you getting slapped?”

Evan was left speechless. He thought to himself, did Grandma really not see enough of their sibling antics?

Other grandmas would be anxious and worried when their grandsons faced trouble, while his grandma seemed more interested in the drama, sometimes even stirring up trouble herself. “Kiss Grandma!”

Evan then asked, “Grandma, can you help me find a wife?”

Grandma May replied, “Sure, but only if you actually have a wife. You’re a man now, and you don’t even have a girlfriend. Even if I had magical skills, I can’t help you find a wife.”

Evan felt choked up. These people were all successful and powerful in the outside world, yet in front of Grandma, they couldn’t even argue.

Evan clarified, “Grandma, I misspoke. What I meant was, can you help me choose a wife? The girl you picked for me isn’t the one I dream about. I feel like the woman in my dreams and I are destined to have a complicated relationship.”

He continued, “Since there will be emotional disputes with that girl in the future, I…”

“It is best to marry her from the start to avoid hurting the wonderful girl you selected for me. My brothers and I trust your judgment, Grandma. The wives you choose for us should be outstanding in every way. A girl as remarkable as her should not be hurt by someone like me.”

To convince his grandma to show him mercy, Evan even referred to himself as a sc*mbag without hesitation.
