After a long pause, Evan asked, “Grandma, are you hungry? Let’s go back for breakfast; my older brother will cook. He treats my sister-in-law really well. We rarely get the chance to eat with him, while she enjoys his cooking every day.” Evan’s words were laced with envy towards his sister-in-law. His older brother genuinely cared for her. With Evan’s assistance, Grandma May rose and indicated that he should help her move the stereo back into the house.

“Evan, are you envious of the bond between your older brother and sister-in-law? You could also be someone others envy,” Grandma May remarked. As he helped her carry the stereo into the main house, Evan replied, “Grandma, I haven’t met the person you set me up with, so how can I know if we’re compatible? Besides, there’s a woman in my dreams who keeps bothering me. I have no idea who I’ll end up marrying. According to you, that means marrying my intended, but it’s likely she’ll betray me, and the woman in my dreams isn’t the one you’ve chosen for me. Grandma, this is so difficult.”

Grandma May reassured him, “There’s always a way for a car to reach the mountain and a straight path for a boat to cross the bridge. Soon enough, you’ll know what to choose. Why worry about so many things now? After your older brother and sister-in-law’s wedding, you’ll find your wife. I’ll give you a year.”

Evan responded, “…Grandma, can’t you make an exception for me?”

“There are no exceptions for your older brother; he is my most beloved grandson. Just look at how quickly your brother and Serenity are getting married in a year.” Grandma May was particularly pleased with Zachary and Serenity, as well as Callum and Camryn. Dr. Carden was assisting Camryn with her eye treatment, and she needed to take medicine daily. He mentioned that she would soon recover.

She had regained some eyesight and could see the light, but the toxin had not been entirely eliminated, leaving her vision still blurry. When Camryn saw the light clearly again, she and Callum would be able to marry and have a wedding. Kevin had made significant progress despite his croaky voice. Although Hayden had not yet disclosed her identity as a woman to Kevin, she had at least worn women’s clothing for him and was willing to spend time alone with him. With Kevin’s smooth talk and thick skin, Grandma May speculated that during the New Year, he would be able to bring Hayden home to celebrate. As long as Hayden agreed to accompany Kevin back to York’s house for the New Year, Grandma May could then lead her son and daughter-in-law to Queen’s house to propose marriage once the festivities were over. This would mean Kevin had fulfilled the goal his Grandma had set for him. Evan had completely given up hope, realizing that even the eldest brother couldn’t change what Grandma decided unless Grandpa were to come back. Meanwhile, back in the house, Zachary was still busy in the kitchen. Evan placed Grandma’s stereo down, walked to the kitchen door, and asked the man in the apron stirring at the stove, “Brother, do you need help?” Zachary replied, “No, your sister-in-law is picky, so I didn’t cook.” Evan responded, “Yes, she can eat it.” Serenity’s appetite was cultivated by Zachary. “Is Grandma back?” Zachary asked his younger brother while he was working. “Yes, Grandma is dancing the square dance in the backyard. I don’t know where she learned it. I hate square dancing the most,” he whispered, wary that Grandma might overhear. In all of Wiltspoon, there was no other wealthy old lady who could dance in the square like her.
