Kiera was unaware that she was the one destined for him.
Julian harbored feelings for her, believing she was the only one capable of making him feel like a normal man.
“Ms. Caron,” Julian said with a smile, “I’ve just arrived.”
Kiera noticed his fidgeting hands and asked, “Why are you carrying so many things since you got here?”
Julian replied, “This is my first visit to see Master, and I always make sure to bring generous gifts. I can’t come here empty-handed.”
Kiera smiled and said, “Are you sure my dad will welcome you? Come on, my house isn’t far. Let’s have dinner, and you can meet my dad to see if he’s willing to accept you as an old apprentice.”
“Okay,” Julian agreed.
Kiera guided Julian to her home and asked as they walked, “Didn’t you say you were going to be the best man for Young Master York? Why are you here instead?”
It had only been two days since she returned from Wiltspoon.
As they talked, Kiera helped carry some of Julian’s items.
Looking at the gifts he brought, she remarked, “You really didn’t have to buy so many expensive things.”
The cigarettes were high quality, the wine was top-notch, and the nutritional products were all from big-name brands. There were many items, all quite costly.
Assuming Julian was a president, Kiera teased, “Don’t you usually spend money like it’s nothing?”
“Now that I’ve made a good amount, I decided to spend some. If I want to be a good student, I should demonstrate my seriousness by gifting my master something, regardless of the cost,” he explained.
“Ms. Caron, I believe you truly want to attend Young Master York’s wedding. After considering it, I came here for two reasons: to visit Master and to invite you to be my girlfriend, so I can take you to Young Master Zhan’s wedding. We’ll…”
“Be there tomorrow, in time for the wedding.” This was an excuse Julian devised on his way here.
Once Kiera left, he couldn’t stop thinking about her. After feeling the absence of Kiera for what felt like three long autumns, Julian, who had been in love from the very start, was unwilling to deprive himself of her presence. So, he quickly prepared a generous gift and arrived via private plane.
He, of course, didn’t mention to Kiera that he had flown in privately. Upon arriving in Yonsburg, he sent his subordinates away.
Kiera, feeling unprepared, said, “Is it too late? I-I’m not ready for anything.” She contemplated her situation but felt out of place among those unfamiliar faces, leading her to decline Julian’s invitation to stay.
However, seeing Julian go to such lengths to be there for her moved her deeply. Although she was far away in Yonsburg, she understood that attendees at Young Master York’s wedding were typically either wealthy or of noble birth. The grandeur of the event was something she likely would never witness again in her life.
It was a great opportunity to see the world, something she could brag about to her peers for many years to come.
Julian smiled and reassured her, “I’ve asked you to be my date. You don’t need to worry about a thing; I’ve taken care of everything. The wedding is the day after tomorrow, so we’ll have time to return.”
Julian did his best to persuade Kiera to accompany him back to Wiltspoon. He had become quite skilled at abducting a wife, after all. Kiera didn’t immediately agree but suggested, “Let’s discuss it after meeting my…”
“First, you’ll need to meet my dad and see if he is open to accepting you as a disciple.”
Julian responded, “Okay.”
Meeting the future father-in-law was also very significant for him!
