“Good morning, young lady,” Zachary said as he introduced the senior makeup artist, Ms. Goulet, who had come to assist Serenity with her makeup. Upon seeing Serenity descend the stairs, Ms. Goulet rose quickly with a smile to greet her.
“Good morning, Ms. Goulet,” Serenity replied, returning the smile. “I went to bed late last night and got up late this morning. I’m sorry for keeping you waiting.”
“Let’s take a break before we begin again,” Ms. Goulet suggested. Although outsiders may not have known that Serenity was pregnant, Zachary had instructed Ms. Goulet to use skin care products that were safe for her.
“Ms. Goulet, let’s go together,” Serenity offered.
However, Ms. Goulet declined with a smile. “I already had breakfast at home before coming out.” As a sought-after makeup artist for brides, she often had to leave early and had little time for breakfast.
Serenity glanced at the clock; it was not yet seven o’clock. “Have you really had breakfast that early?” she asked.
“Yes, I tend to eat early because I usually leave the house early,” Ms. Goulet explained, mentioning she only had a little to eat at the master’s house. After Ms. Goulet finished her meal, Serenity instructed the servants to treat her well and brought Sonny into the dining hall. The Hunt family had been busy since the previous day, with Zachary bringing in help from Wildridge Manor. Mrs. Stone also expressed concern for Liberty, wanting to ensure she wasn’t overwhelmed by the lack of manpower, so she made arrangements as well.
someone was coming over. Duncan, who was wholeheartedly pursuing Liberty, wanted to impress her. He not only moved all the servants from his private villa but also brought in some staff from the Lewis family mansion to assist. Liberty would take the lead in organizing everything. Meanwhile, just as Serenity entered the dining hall, her bridesmaid, Elisa, arrived. Along with Elisa, several well-known young women had also been invited to serve as bridesmaids for Serenity.
Elisa greeted the notable bridesmaids at the entrance of Hunt House, and they entered together.
The bridesmaids’ dresses were already at Hunt House, prepared for Serenity to change into on her big day while they did their makeup. Meanwhile, in the hometown of the Hunts, all members of the Hunt family gathered in the residence of the late Mr. Hunt and his wife. This house was also a part of the inheritance that the Serenity sisters had contested for. After a century, the house would revert to the Serenity sisters, with the rest of the Hunt family willingly relinquishing their claims on the property belonging to the two elders.
In truth, the Serenity sisters were not concerned about lacking a place to live currently. However, this house was built by their parents and held many memories for the family. Whenever they returned, they were reminded of their parents’ presence. This was a cherished place for the sisters, representing the efforts they made to preserve their parents’ legacy. Even if they did not return to live there, it would always be a place to stay during future visits to their hometown, symbolizing their connection to home.
They still had a home. “Grandpa, I have a question: should we attend Serenity’s wedding?” Mike asked Old Mr. Hunt. Before Grandpa could respond, Noah chimed in, “It’s fine for Grandma and Grandpa to go. Sister Serenity won’t drive Grandma away. But if you go, I’m not sure you won’t be kicked out.”
Mike looked at Noah and replied, “How can you say that? We are also her family!”
