While speaking, Alice frowned once more. She hugged her stomach and told Elisa, “Elisa, I might really give birth early; the pain is becoming more noticeable.”
“Go to the hospital right away! I’ll take you,” Elisa said, her nerves evident.
As Elisa moved to help Alice up, Alice interjected, “Please go to my cabinet first and grab the delivery kit I prepared earlier. You need to take it to the hospital, along with my prenatal checkup files that are in my drawer.”
“Okay, okay, sister-in-law. Just sit tight while I get it. Don’t worry, I’ll be quick!” Elisa reassured her as she hurriedly went to fetch the delivery kit.
After collecting the kit and the checkup files, she dashed out of the room and quickly made her way downstairs.
Alice waited for Elisa, but to her surprise, Elisa took the delivery kit and checkup files and ran out without waiting for her or calling back.
Alice was momentarily stunned. She had told Elisa not to be nervous, yet Elisa was so anxious that she left without checking on her, the pregnant woman.
With one hand still on her belly, Alice slowly stood up and began to walk out of the room.
Elisa, upon reaching the stairs, realized Alice was no longer downstairs and headed directly to the hospital with Remy.
Alice witnessed this and couldn’t help but laugh, picturing Elisa’s reaction when she arrived at the hospital, only to find Alice hadn’t followed her.
Stopping, Alice took out her mobile phone, intending to call Clive. However, thinking of Elisa’s panic, she ended up calling Audrey instead.
Audrey quickly answered Alice’s call.
“Mom, where are you? Are you coming back soon?” Alice asked.

Make sure you eat. You need energy to deliver the baby. Don’t panic; we’ll be home shortly. It’s not safe for you to drive to the hospital by yourself. Elisa is still at home, so let her know, and she can help you gather your things. I’ll take you to the hospital as soon as I arrive.”
“Have Clive go directly to the hospital so he doesn’t come back in a panic and make mistakes.”
Alice replied: “Okay, I haven’t told Clive yet, Elisa…”
Alice couldn’t help but laugh, saying: “I asked Elisa to help me get the delivery kit, but she took it and ran off by herself.”
Audrey: “…that girl.”
She also chuckled and said, “Alice, I saw Elisa’s car; I’ll stop her. Don’t worry, we’ll be home soon.”
Alice: “Mom, please stop Elisa first. I’ll grab something to eat.”
The pain wasn’t too severe; it was just a little uncomfortable. She could manage it.
After ending the call, she slowly made her way downstairs.
The butler noticed the movement, came out, and quickly went upstairs to assist Alice, reminding her to be careful so she wouldn’t trip.
She told Remy, “My sister-in-law might be in labor. She mentioned having a stomachache. We need to get to the hospital immediately.” When Remy saw Elisa rush out, he instinctively followed her. He took the wheel and insisted that Elisa shouldn’t drive, arguing that she would be too anxious and it wouldn’t be safe. The two of them set out with the production kit that Alice had prepared. Meanwhile, Audrey intercepted Elisa’s car.
