“Mom, what will she do to us? You and Dad try to go out as little as possible,” Elisa expressed her concerns. Before Audrey could respond, Elisa asserted, “But in Wiltspoon, we aren’t afraid of her. If she dares to act against us, we can ensure it’s easy for her to come and hard for her to leave.”

Audrey reassured her, “Don’t worry. On the surface, she won’t do anything. But in private, if she remains inactive, there will be consequences. When my mother was younger, she lacked a clear understanding of her character. Now, once you meet her, you’ll know exactly who she is.”

“Is it about Grandma’s death?” Elisa asked, glancing at her mother.

Audrey replied, “I believe the truth will eventually come to light. Elisa, you shouldn’t worry about this. Focus on your company and your relationship with Remy. Once Remy’s house is renovated, you two should think about marriage. You’re still quite young.” She encouraged Elisa and Remy to prioritize their future together.

Remy poured a glass of warm water for Audrey. After hearing her words, he interjected with a smile, “Auntie, Elisa and I aren’t planning to get married this year. The house has been renovated inside and out, but it’s a big project that won’t be ready for at least a year. If we were to marry early next year, Serenity would have already had her baby, making it difficult for her to attend our wedding. Elisa cares deeply for her cousins and wants them all present. So, we’ve decided that after Jasmine and Serenity give birth, we will get married and hold a wedding.”

Audrey looked at Remy, then back at Elisa, saying, “This is a significant life decision for both of you. Take your time to think it over. I will prepare a dowry for you. You can marry whenever you choose; the dowry will be ready for you at any time.”

Elisa’s cheeks flushed as she replied, “Mom, I don’t mind getting married.”

“I’m not in a hurry,” she said. “I’m busy right now. Both Jasmine and Serenity are pregnant, and the responsibility of our company rests on my shoulders. I don’t have time to prepare for the wedding, so I might as well set it aside.” Audrey replied, “As long as Remy has no objections.” Remy responded, “I have no objections. Elisa’s wishes will take priority.” The two of them finally secured Audrey’s approval. Remy felt only happiness and had no reservations; Elisa could marry whenever she chose, and he would always stand by her side.

After Audrey drank a glass of warm water, she, along with Remy and Elisa, visited the love nest that Remy had built for Elisa. Although it was still undecorated, Remy had paid great attention to every detail, focusing on Elisa’s interests. Audrey never doubted Remy’s genuine feelings for Elisa. While she had initially opposed their relationship—not due to any perceived shortcomings in Remy, but because she was hesitant to let her only daughter marry someone far away—Julian’s sudden interference changed her perspective. She began to see that Elisa and Remy were a perfect match. They were both talented and attractive, with similar family backgrounds, but most importantly, they were deeply in love with each other.
