Duncan smiled and remarked, “I’m also busy and don’t have time. Zack and Serenity are on their honeymoon, so I can’t interrupt them.”
Although the young couple was not on a traditional honeymoon and was simply traveling by car around Wiltspoon, Duncan preferred not to disturb them.
If he were in their position, married to Liberty, he wouldn’t want to be interrupted during his honeymoon either. He would cherish the opportunity to spend every day together, exploring the mountains and rivers, and enjoying the beauty of sunrises and sunsets. Such a life would truly be blissful.
The butler sent Sonny to Bowen’s room. Upon returning, he encountered Josh arriving with Jasmine. He entered the room and respectfully announced to Zachary, “Master, Master Bucham has arrived.”
Josh entered the house with Jasmine, who was carrying various bags.
“Jasmine,” Serenity exclaimed, smiling and waving at her friend.
Zachary rose and approached Josh, taking the bags from his hands. “It’s not your first time here, yet you brought so many items and spent quite a bit,” he said.
Josh grinned and replied, “I’m not worried about you being upset. We didn’t buy these supplements; they were gifts from Jasmine’s relatives and friends to help her recover. She can only eat so much, so we’re giving some to Serenity to share the load with Jasmine.”
“My cousin insists that Jasmine shouldn’t take too many supplements. She advises her to eat normally and prepare three balanced meals a day based on her recipes to ensure that both Jasmine and the baby get adequate nutrition. Excess supplements can be harmful,” he added, noting that his cousin works as a nutritionist for their family.
and Josh not only respected her but also trusted her. It was his cousin, a nutritionist, who sometimes had a relaxed approach. Jasmine chose not to speak up, wanting to maintain harmony among his siblings. But how could Josh be unaware of his family’s dynamics? He seemed to know everything about others’ households. He had repeatedly asked his mother to have a private conversation with his cousin. With his cousin now being stricter, Jasmine felt more comfortable at home. When Serenity learned they were discussing supplements, she smiled wryly and remarked, “I still want to sell some of the products here at your place, but you keep piling everything at mine.” She had cared for her pregnant sister, supported her during confinement, and helped raise her children, gaining more experience than Jasmine or even Alice. Just as the Bucham family’s nutritionist advised, a pregnant woman should eat three regular meals without being picky; supplements were unnecessary. Serenity occasionally soaked and steamed the food brought to her but generally avoided other supplements. Her meals were nutritious enough; adding supplements would be excessive. Jasmine, who was further along in her pregnancy, had a slightly protruding belly, yet she wore loose clothing that made her appear heavier. It was unusual to see Duncan around. After Josh set down his belongings, he playfully slapped Duncan on the arm and said, “It’s so dull. You stay cooped up at home every day instead of hanging out with us. We’re good friends, but if we don’t meet up often or keep in touch, we’ll end up as strangers and lose our connection.” Duncan quickly replied, “Yes, yes, I was wrong. I’ll make plans to meet up with you.”
“I’ll drink when I have time in the future, so you can’t say your wife won’t let you drink.”
“It’s fine to have a few sips of wine at a party with you. Once I get home, I’ll freshen up and chew a few pieces of gum. I don’t think Jasmine will take me to the study to sleep. Zachary, will your wife take you to the study to sleep?”
