Trenton’s father also engaged in illegal activities. While all illicit businesses had been shut down and the amounts involved were not particularly large, the scandal tarnished Newman’s reputation, leading to a decline in the value of its shares, a downturn in business, and a significant reduction in the family’s assets. Now, Camryn had taken charge of the Newman family, and with the combined efforts of her and Dalton, they managed to navigate through these challenges. Camryn chose not to share this information with Trenton; it was Dalton who informed him. It was then that Trenton began to understand the underlying bitterness behind Camryn’s gentle demeanor. Camryn had avenged Trenton’s father by sending his parents to prison, as they too had committed crimes. Accepting Camryn’s resolve to remove her relatives was difficult for Trenton, but he could also empathize with her. Although the Newman family was now under Camryn’s control, she made it clear that she would not relinquish what belonged to her nor would she covet what was not hers.

Camryn promised to give Trenton anything that rightfully belonged to him, while the matter concerning Carrie would remain a legal issue between the two of them. Camryn would only return Trenton’s parents’ possessions. Since Trenton’s parents had two children—himself and Carrie—this would naturally be a matter for their lawsuit.

Trenton said, “Sister, I’m heading to class now. I’ll request leave afterward, and we can discuss this further when I return.”

Camryn replied, “Okay, go to class.”

After the call ended between the siblings, Camryn fulfilled Trenton’s request by moving the items from his parents’ room into his own. Regarding the belongings in Carrie’s room, she decided to wait until Carrie felt better and would then notify her to come and collect them. From this point on, Camryn and Carrie were two separate families.

“Young Master York is here,” Camryn hummed as she picked up her mobile phone, returned to her room to grab her household registration book, and then went downstairs. The butler would take care of the cleaning, so she didn’t need to worry about that. As she reached the first floor, Callum walked in from outside.

“Camryn, are you okay?” Callum asked, striding over with a look of concern.

Camryn smiled and replied, “What could possibly be wrong? This room is packed with people, including you and me. It’s not like it was before; I can still endure their presence.”

Callum scanned her from head to toe and felt relieved to see that she was fine.

“Didn’t I tell you not to come over? Yet here you are. You could have gone to work,” she said.

Taking her hand, Callum led her to the sofa, where he sat down and explained, “I’m still worried, so I wanted to check in on you. Mr. Bucham is at the company, and my older brother is home too. If anything comes up, Mr. Bucham will reach out to him. Even though my brother is on marriage leave, if something urgent arises that they can’t handle, they might need him back at work before his leave is over.”

“What are you doing with the household registration book?” Callum asked, noticing it in her hand.

Camryn looked at him seriously and asked, “Callum, do you regret marrying me? I’m not as kind as you might believe; I have a darker side as well. If you have any regrets, we can address them now. But if you’re sure about the engagement, we can go to the Civil Affairs Bureau to get our marriage certificate right away.”

Callum reached out and playfully flicked her forehead. “What kind of person do you think I am? I know your character, and I…”

I understand both of you. Regarding family grievances: if you are excessively kind, like the Holy Mother, you can forgive others no matter how much they have hurt you. Camryn, I have no regrets about this. You will never regret it in this life!
