Kendrick retrieved a bottle of fine wine that his father had collected from the cabinet. He had already set up the wine glass. With Julian present, the Caron family, known for their love of drinking, had developed a taste for wine but dared not indulge too much with Mrs. Caron supervising. “Mom, during Julian’s business trip, my eldest brother suggested that we let him stay at our house instead of a hotel. He asked to cancel the hotel reservation,” Kiera said while picking at her vegetables. Mrs. Caron exchanged glances with her husband and replied, “We have a spare room at home. If Julian doesn’t mind our modest abode, he can stay here and forgo the hotel.” Julian quickly responded, “Auntie, I don’t mind at all. Your home is not simple; it’s decorated so warmly. When I first arrived, it felt just like home—very comfortable.” Mrs. Caron smiled and said, “You’re welcome to stay here as long as you like. In the future, if you come for business, skip the hotel and just stay with us.” Julian replied, “I hope I’m not a bother to my uncle and aunt during my stay.” Mr. Caron smirked internally, thinking how easy it was for someone seasoned in the business world to flatter others. The hosts had no objections and warmly welcomed Julian to stay. What could Mr. Caron say? “Mom, I might need to tidy up the guest room. Julian’s parents are planning to visit in a few days to personally thank me for helping him. They said it was just a small matter, but Uncle and Aunt Bucham insisted on coming to express their gratitude in person.” Kiera informed her parents in advance so they wouldn’t be caught off guard when Mr. Bucham and his wife arrived.

His wife arrived. After a moment of surprise, Mrs. Caron looked at Julian and said, “Julian, this situation is truly insignificant for my Caron family. You have already shown our daughter Kiera gratitude by advising your parents against making the trip here to thank us.” Julian responded, “Auntie, if Kiera hadn’t saved me that night, I would have certainly been kidnapped. Although I had some skills, the danger was very real; there were too many wrongdoers. Kiera’s actions saved my life, and my parents and I are committed to repaying her for what she did for our Bucham family.”
