Kevin reflected on his thoughts and felt a sense of power. He believed he should be the first person outside his family to know that Hayden was actually a woman, as she had disguised herself as a man. However, it was his grandmother who had revealed this information to him. Hayden had been remarkably successful in her deception.

Kevin remarked, “Oh, twenty minutes are up. I’ll head upstairs to pick up your sister from work.” Hugh glanced at the clock and asked, “Isn’t it time for her to get off work?” Kevin replied, “Do you have any objections to Hayden leaving work early? The management of Queen Enterprise should be your responsibility. After all, Hayden has worked hard for so many years; why shouldn’t she take some time off occasionally?”

Hugh responded, “What do you mean by saying Queen Enterprise should be left to me? I am also a member of the Queen family, and she has a stake in the family’s wealth as well. We should both take over Queen Enterprise together. You cannot place all the burden on me. Kevin, even if you are married, you cannot restrict my sister’s freedom. She should not be confined to the role of a typical housewife. If she wants to work, you need to respect her decision.”

Hugh was concerned that Kevin would prevent Hayden from continuing her job after her marriage. If that happened, the responsibility for Queen Enterprise would truly fall on his shoulders. “Regardless, my sister holds a stake in Queen Enterprise. Even after you get married, she will still be the leading president of the company. I lack the capability to run Queen Enterprise on my own; I can only assist. I am merely a reckless second-generation heir, a prodigal son. If the company were left to me, it would be doomed. Therefore, I am better suited to be an idle second-generation heir.”

At Queen’s, Hugh made every effort to undermine his own credibility.
