stood at the entrance of the hotel, surrounded by a bustling crowd. Holden appeared utterly lost, his expression a mix of confusion and humiliation. Kevin boldly remarked that Holden harbored a deep hatred for Matriarch Farrell. Taking a few deep breaths, Matriarch Farrell apologized to Kevin, saying, “Young Master York, I’m sorry. I let my anger get the better of me and forgot that we were at the Fortress Hotel. I will take him back now and ensure I don’t tarnish your territory here.”
Kevin’s gaze fell on Holden, whose face was bruised and his nose swollen, leaving him in a state of utter embarrassment. He turned to Matriarch Farrell and said, “Matriarch Farrell, what has your husband done to deserve this treatment in front of so many people? How will he ever show his face again?” Many of the individuals entering and exiting the Fortress Hotel belonged to Jensburg’s upper class. If they witnessed this scene, word would spread quickly, and Holden would struggle to maintain his dignity moving forward.
Matriarch Farrell replied coldly, “He has done something disgraceful and has lost the right to confront anyone again. Young Master York, we’ll take our leave and not impose any further.” With that, she instructed her two bodyguards, “Take Mr. Janzen back.” She then cast a disdainful glance at the girl who had been so severely beaten, choosing to leave her behind. Matriarch Farrell needed to investigate whether the girl had connections to the XX boss. If so, she planned to report it to her superior and cut off the girl’s financial support.
Should the big boss become enraged and seek to unleash his fury, Matriarch Farrell could always hand Holden over as a means of appeasing him. However, she believed that since Holden had already faced her wrath, the boss would likely not direct his anger at him again. After all, the girl…
She considered him nothing more than a toy. She couldn’t fathom that the big boss would risk making an enemy of Matriarch Farrell over something so trivial. Two bodyguards hauled Holden into the car as if he were a lifeless dog. Before long, the group departed from the Fortress Hotel.
